February 20, 20214 yr It seems Norway voted with its heart instead of head. I didn’t consider Monument to contend for the win in May, but they’ve sent something that will unlikely crawl out of the bottom 3 in the semi. The mind boggles!
February 21, 20214 yr I liked Monument but I don't see this decision as the disasterous mess that others do. Side question - are we getting more key changes than usual? Edited February 21, 20214 yr by Colm
February 21, 20214 yr Aye, Monument was amazing but this is perfectly fine, could even do pretty well now it's translated and he's put some good emotion into the main singing lines.
February 21, 20214 yr There's a hell of a lot of autotune on it. I'm getting Wheatus/HelloGoodbye vibes off it. Edited February 21, 20214 yr by Colm
February 21, 20214 yr This is what Peter Kay would’ve sent as a joke act in 2008. Assuming he takes the aesthetic with him to Rotterdam, Norway are absolute toast this year.
February 21, 20214 yr This really must've come down to the artist's popularity. He seemed to have put out about 503 singles since 2019 so no wonder he won the vote. Such a forgettable non-event song though. I wish people just stopped connecting to the artist behind the song instead of judging the actual song - this leads to so many flops :')
February 21, 20214 yr Also, no way this isn't autotuned. The vocals will be utterly atrocious and I'll be 100% there to see this mess live *.*
February 21, 20214 yr I mean vocoder effects. But you're right too. Edited February 21, 20214 yr by Colm
February 21, 20214 yr Author Gutted about KEiiNO, but at least it wasn't even a close vote, would've been more gutting for them to lose if it was only about 5,000 votes difference. And I can't believe that Alexander Rybak had enough goodwill nine years after his Eurovision win to take victory again with a trash song, yet KEiiNO are paid dust like this just two years after winning the televote and having an actual great song (that I've not viewed as a potential Eurovision winner, but I reckon it could've done better on the juries and worse on the televote to balance out and get a very similar finish to "Spirit in the Sky") "Fallen Angel" is fine, but I think it's quite borderline and ngl, I can see myself actively rooting for it to NQ come May just to serve them right.
February 23, 20214 yr I've been thinking about this SWITCH UP a lot since Saturday. SO GOOD. _OYWfK8gbWU
February 27, 20214 yr This is good and I like it better than Monument but I was rooting for Hero or Feel Again. :(
March 26, 20214 yr Omg I just learned this king co-produced "Sweet But Psycho" by Ava Max
March 26, 20214 yr Dl0vDC2fRp0 what a BANGER Yes way better than the winning song from MGP itself. They should have just entered this into the contest rather than just having it as an interval act, it would have won. Edited March 26, 20214 yr by The. Snake.
