February 9, 20214 yr Author Last week to register your votes, the results will commence next Tuesday! :D
February 10, 20214 yr Voted. This is not my era for number 1s so I wasn't spoilt for choice. I managed to find 35 good songs from that list and got rid of five of them.
February 13, 20214 yr Author If you're bored this weekend then why not pick your favourite 30 chart toppers of the 2010's and message me with them! You have until 4pm On Monday 15th February to send your votes to me!
February 14, 20214 yr Voted! That was so difficult to narrow down to 30, could easily have voted for about 100!
February 15, 20214 yr Author A few hours left to vote peeps. 38 voters so far... let's see if we can get to 40!
February 15, 20214 yr Thanks for bumping this as I'd been planning to do this today but had forgotten again until the bump x Sent - I find it kind of difficult to compare my faves from the first half of the decade to those from the second half for some reason, they just feel very distinct in my mind - the split between the download era and the streaming era I guess!
February 15, 20214 yr Author VOTING HAS NOW CLOSED- Thanks to all who voted- Will be back with some stats later on.
February 15, 20214 yr Author Here's some stats for you then: There were 43 voters in the end (full list of voters in first post) There were 243 songs in the rate 37 of which received no votes from any voter with 2012 collecting more zero rated tracks than any other year!
February 15, 20214 yr Author PLEASE DO NOT REVEAL WHO YOU VOTED FOR OR HOW MANY POINTS YOU GAVE TRACKS UNTIL THE APPEAR :D Tomorrow we'll eliminate the first half of the songs that got no votes with some big names in there!
February 15, 20214 yr I'm surprised there were as few as 37 songs getting 0 points  there were a lot of pretty questionable / entirely forgettable songs on there from the pre-streaming era when it was a lot easier to get to #1. I expect there's at least one or two songs that no one other than me voted for.
February 15, 20214 yr A little surprised 2012 has the most zero rated tracks, sure there are some duds there but some great well deserved number 1s as well.
February 16, 20214 yr Author No 207- ZERO POINTS 2010-2012 Everybody Hurts Helping Haiti No 1 for 2 weeks in February 2010- recorded the biggest weekly sale of the year at 453,426. The cover of the REM 1993 single was recorded for the Haiti Earthquake disaster of January 2010. Dirtee Disco Dizzee Rascal No 1 for 1 week in June 2010- Daniel from One True Voice finally gets himself to No 1 (as a backing singer…) Shout Shout For England Ft D Rascal/ J Corden No 1 for 2 weeks in June 2010- Dizzee almost knocked himself off the top (David Guetta jamming himself in the middle of his chart toppers)- So both of Dizzee’s No 1 got no votes…. The Club Is Alive JLS No 1 for 1 week in July 2010- Panned at the time on Buzzjack- it is rather “generic” but at this point they could do little wrong. Green Light Roll Deep No 1 for 1 week in August 2010- Obviously the least preferred Roll Deep No 1 Please Don't Let Me Go Olly Murs No 1 for 1 week in September 2010- Murs debut attracted no one it seems but he has three more stabs at winning this! Heroes X Factor Finalists 2010 No 1 for 2 weeks in December 2010- To be honest it was a rule of diminishing returns on these X Factor records even by 2010- all for a good cause though etc Lazy Song Bruno Mars No 1 for 1 week in May 2011- Seems we don’t like idleness- Bruno has four other offerings though. Wishing On A Star X Factor Finalists 2011 Featuring JLS & One Direction No 1 for 1 week in December 2011- A sneaky way of getting JLS and 1D credited with a No 1? Well it worked though it seems 10 years on we’re unimpressed. Cannonball Little Mix No 1 for 1 week in December 2011- Anyone surprised by this? X Factor stars not doing so well on this rate at least- 3 more songs from them to come so it isn’t over. Wherever You Are Military Wives With Gareth Malone No 1 for 1 week in December 2011- Nothing, and I mean nothing sold as much in 1 week in the 2010s as this did, a mighty 555k! Now no-one likes it. Fifth charity song to bite the bullet. Good Feeling Flo Rida No 1 for 1 week in January 2012- Three chart toppers in the decade (who knew) but this is the one that’s unloved. Was at No 2 before yo-yoing around the top 10 and topping the charts 7 weeks later! Twilight Cover Drive No 1 for 1 week in February 2012- No idea what this sounded like until I played it. Then I forgot it instantly- explains why it’s here. Turn Up The Music Chris Brown No 1 for 1 week in April 2012- This could be Ne-Yo or Usher in all fairness- not bad if a touch non-descript. Sing Gary Barlow/ Commonwealth Band/ Military Wives No 1 for 1 week in June 2012- The Diamond Jubilee- we got an extra Bank Holiday- we celebrated. Military Wives out of the running! Payphone Maroon 5 Ft Wiz Khalifa No 1 for 1 week in June 2012- they waited 8 years for a UK no 1 and then you go and do this? Heatwave Wiley Featuring Ms D No 1 for 2 weeks in August 2012- Remember when this sold over 100,000 copies in a week and was the biggest song in the land for a fortnight?- me neither. Candy Robbie Williams No 1 for 2 weeks in November 2012- Surprised that this got zero votes- his last big hurrah chart wise in all honesty and 8 years after his previous No 1. He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother Justice Collective No 1 for 1 week in December 2012- Charity records getting short shrift here on the rate, and a festive No 1 to boot. Shame on you all.
February 16, 20214 yr shame no one could fit Good Feeling or Heatwave in their votes (obviously I didn't have room for them but they don't deserve to be completely pointless) - otherwise no big losses here. not surprised Cannonball got nothing really, it's one of the least faves of the fanbase and even Little Mix themselves have disowned the record.
