'UK Hun?' is up to #78 on Apple, coming to repeat the top 40 success of 'Break Up Bye Bye'? (No idea how that did on Apple but it peaked at #98 on Spotify).

 

So yeah, this has immediately peaked higher on Spotify than 'Break Up Bye Bye' did - interestingly enough though 'Break Up Bye Bye' actually peaked on its second day and spent 4 days in the top 200 in total, this one might end up being more frontloaded, but in any case can definitely see it sneaking a week in the top 40 again.

Lil Tjay should collaborate with Olivia Rodrigo. They have common ground of BuzzJack apparently being shockingly out of touch about their existence. xx

 

This will be Lil Tjay's 8th UK top 100 hit for those keeping count :P

Can't say I get how this Lil Tjay song has instantly debuted at #1 with a big lead (even with TikTok exposure) but... yay! Probably an opinion not many will share but this is very much preferable to Drivers License being #1. Glad it won't be spending 9 weeks at #1 by default from lack of competition.

Interesting thanks! I agree about this being more frontloaded. I don't think it'll have quite the impact as the Frock Destroyers did but I'm hoping for a cute top 40.

Wow at all of his songs making the top 100, doing quite a bit better than on Apple! Maybe he could get a first top 40 hit after all (although still not holding my breath).

 

Denzel Curry possibly coming for his first top 100 hit *.* (I've heard that he only has a very minor appearance on the song but hey a credit is a credit). Most of these songs have already fallen a bit on Apple but 'terms' is among a couple that have actually climbed from 24 hours ago - in general it seems the songs from the second half of the album (lower case song titles and more lowkey compared to the first half being all caps and higher energy songs) are holding up better there.

Dua’s We’re Good done quite a bit better WW and in the US than the UK. I know quite a few in the songs thread were saying it sounds quite catered to American audiences but I though at least debut wise she’d start a bit better here. I think it’ll hold up pretty well throughout the week though and still get a decent debut officially

I wouldn't be so sure about CMP's #1 debut yet, we need at least to see 2-3 days where it's going. It's well ahead on Spotify and AM but behind on Amazon and iTunes.

Lil Tjay had that song called FN a while ago that was quite big on Spotify, I thought it had been top 40, but looks like it peaked at 69

 

it's quite shocking how it's reached 700K in 1 day but in my case I was more surprised with Olivia cos I had never heard of her before

 

but I kinda like these semi-newcomers having this surprising gigantic hits when the big names come back and flop or semi-flop

I'm still sure some songs on Spotify get deals where they are pushed on people. Free accounts get random songs thrown in to try and force people to buy a subscription. I'd not be surprised if deals were done where say the label pays for 250k random plays on free accounts.
