If this was the last ever episode then I wanted the high hied yin in cuffs and Carmichael firmly back in her box. The way they kept slicing him in at random points to then deliver an incompetent fool feels a bit damp for a last ever episode.

I have a feeling this morning that there’s one final season or movie or something. This wraps the OCG element and ties up the final Threads of things that go back to season 1. But buckells was still enabled/promoted by someone, and there’s the matter of the fake transport order. I think a few institutional elements to be blown apart yet and we didn’t hear of the outcome of Teds appeal.

Plus there’s this comment today from the BBCs chief content officer.

As an aside, 12.8m viewers is phenomenal

Insane figures!

I am in the same boat as those that say it was a disappoitment, but I could live with it if it's confirmed that there will be another series. Still feels like a whole lot more to unwrap.

Honestly give us two hour and a half specials on Christmas Day & Boxing Day tbh.

The BBC will bend over backwards for another series - but I suspect it's all down to Jed Merciouo and what he wants to do next. They could go down the spin-off route, have another series or just end the show right there. They ended the H storyline, but there is obviously still someone who ordered the hit on Gail Vella. And they redeemed Hastings, so the three leads could work together without any animosity.

If there is another series, I suspect it will be a long time away yet. All the leads are busy with other projects and I wonder if Jed might want to do a Season 2 of The Bodyguard or a different project altogether first.

I understand the ending in the sense that it shows corruption will always be around, but when your show is built on thrills, last-minute twists & melodrama, and that many people are watching, it just doesn't make a lot of sense and I still maintain there was no proper conclusion for the three leads either. It honestly felt so half-baked, would he really want to end one of the most acclaimed series of recent years like that?

I feel like the wording from the BBC executive's tweet suggests they'll want another series anyway, will be a long time yet, but there are definitely enough areas they left open.

I'm not sure there's ever been anything to suggest this was ever going to be the final series, I was certainly never expecting it to be and even less so after seeing it. It's been left in a way where it could be, but think a definitive one would have had more obvious conclusions.

The tabloids are reporting that there will indeed be a seventh series, so let's see what happens! Though it'll definitely be at least a couple of years off from now.

Was always going to be the case, think they will do a 7th and final series. From what I have read, he's working on Bodyguard series 2 first.
