it was very curious to me that they seemingly swept over the fact that kevin wouldn’t let jamie near the kids or that britney called and left a voicemail saying that she was scared of her father + that he’s threatened to take away the rights to her children. to me, that’s the biggest clue as to why she’s keeping quiet. he has threatened her this whole time with taking the kids away, which is why she stays quiet + conforms. i believe once they are adults, she will have nothing to lose + begin to fight back. the kids can also fight for her - that’s what she’s waiting for.

there is still no actual evidence that voicemail is Britney... it's pure hearsay.

There is also a real lack of discussion about Lou Taylor in the show and shes part of the conservership from the beginning.

i figured as much but it sounds a lot like her + it goes along with what we all know :(

The documentary had to be v v careful about avoiding lawsuits. I think I read somewhere (maybe Breatheheavy forum?) that's why they didn't talk much about Lou Taylor (which kinda makes sense to me - but idk if it's just pure guess work)

Also, it's so sad knowing that Britney is actually paying both sides in this. That's really messed up. :(

I'm a moderator on BreatheHeavy and yes Lou threatened to sue the site for posting about her (we do still post about her but add 'allegedly' ;)

Lou also sent a threatening letter to GagaDaily in January too, asking they remove a thread about her.

Interesting!

TAKE NOTES PEOPLE :heehee:

I'm still seeing tweets on the regular about this. This documentary seems to have served it's purpose and opened a LOT of eyes. Loving Kacey Musgraves tweeting a few times about this too. As well as Hayley Williams, Courtney Love, Sam Smith...

the amount of media attention this is getting right now is insane, i hope there's another documentary of some sort before the trial, it needs as much media attention as possible.

I've watched it now and full posts to maybe follow later but for now I will do a quick summary. It's a heart-breaking and at times devastating watch. To see some so loved and adored be hounded by paparazzi and led into a complete breakdown is the mould infesting celebrity society. Truly horrid. During the mid 00s, she could have easily ended things like so many celebrities have done so, that's the reality of it all and yet the press never learn the lessons. There was NO consideration for her mental health.

The subsequent events are still shrouded in mystery but the documentary gave a good insight into what it all means and how it has developed over the years. I am near certain that Britney wants that control in her life away from her father. I hope this movement (and the increased support it will get after this) will make a change for the better.

The whole time watching, I just thought about this post:

For context, the cover on the right is Janet Jackson's "Control" album cover, in an album where she truly took control of her life, her career, her identity, her sexuality - this is what Britney wants, needs and deserves. Take a listen to the album in the context of this documentary AND knowing the Justin Timberlake x Janet controversy and it all just becomes even more powerful.

From wiki on the album, the album deals with: a recent annulment of her marriage to singer James DeBarge, severing her business affairs from her father and manager Joseph and the rest of the Jackson family, hiring the A&M executive John McClain as her new management, and her subsequent introduction to Jam and Lewis.

It's a really difficult watch. The footage from early interviews was so shocking, thankfully people wouldn't get away with it now but it's baffling to think anyone ever could. The way they sexualised a young girl like that, particularly by older men, is shameful. Not to mention the paparazzi - truly horrific and wholly insensitive. How anyone could behave like that is completely beyond my understanding.

I remember Britney shaving her head very clearly, I was 10 at the time and I was really worried for Britney - I loved her music and had no idea things were so hard for her. Everyone talked about her like she was crazy but I just felt sad for her. It was a depressing sight seeing those photos and it was the first glimpse I really remember of the showbiz world not being as perfect as it looks. I had no knowledge of the conservatorship or anything that followed really, it just seemed like Britney picked herself back up and was doing well. I only learned about the conservatorship a few years ago and it really surprised me that she was still under something like that.

The documentary shines so much light on the conservatorship though. I didn't really understand it but it explained it brilliantly, and I just feel so sad for Britney. So crazy to think that a woman who has been raising two kids, touring, enjoying a successful career for over a decade now, is still controlled by her father against her own will. It's really scary that something like that can happen. To take some sort of positive out of this, Britney's situation really has blown the lid off conservatorships and how damaging they are, and hopefully the noise from the fans and increased support can help Britney out, as well as other people in the future?

its slightly ironic that people's obsession with her kinda put her in the conservership in the beginning and ultimately... people's obsession with her again may be the reason she's removed

Just watched it this evening huge thanks to Tafty for finding me a link ❤️

It was very thought provoking I agree it was weird seeing her deal with questions about her breasts, her virginity, her boyfriends at such a young age... quite frankly weird and horrendously sexist. I’d never seen the Diane Sawyer clips just the bits of Britney sobbing in pictures and I got quite upset watching that, the poor girl I really wanted to give Sawyer a good slap in the face. Has she actually said anything or acknowledged any of this since it went out? Her and that other male presenter who basically did that for viewers and ratings owe her a huge apology! The bit about shooting her wtf? I’m not surprised Britney had some kind of breakdown she has had to deal with utter shit (excuse my language).

I’m still confused as to why she is under the conservership she is under? It all sounds grossly sexist and unfair.

Not sure what good that'll do. It won't appease the Twitter mob, they'll just say it's too little too late and continue attacking.

it was always highly suspicious that he filed for full rights the day she was taken to hospital after allegedley one of his friends told her he wasn't coming to take her kids and ended up getting her locked up.

It's also noted that Lynne's book suggests K-Fed was in cahoots with Sam Lufti.

She has been bankrolling this man since 2004. His intentions are probably pure for the sake of the kids... but there is an intent on money from him.

220k watched Framing Britney Spears on Sky Documentaries last night, the highest rating for the channel since it launched in May.

The documentary left me with more questions than answers.

I hope Britney can return and reveal all and then release a killer album. Im sure she has so much support right now.
