February 17, 20214 yr 220k watched Framing Britney Spears on Sky Documentaries last night, the highest rating for the channel since it launched in May.That exposure! The response has been all overwhelmingly positive too, which is great news. I like that we have somewhere to direct people who have questions about the conservatorship and what it actually means, instead of fumbling over words and getting things twisted when describing to friends etc.. I feel like this documentary does a great job at collecting everything we know and examining things a bit further/giving a bit of insight into things. I'm just glad everyones eyes are seemingly more open on this whole matter. It's kinda like the "Me Too" movement on the sense that it's brought to surface a lot of past interviews with celebrities and people pointing out how gross it all is. There's a specific one about Lindsay Lohan that has come to fruition atm, where he's constantly asking her about her rehab stints and making a mockery off of her.
February 17, 20214 yr She could be talking about a LOT of people there, from photographers to interviewers to Justin Timberlake. He is the one I put a lot of blame on for this.
February 18, 20214 yr That paparazzi man they interviewed was deluded, I don't remember seeing him apologise for hassling her so much.
February 18, 20214 yr i don't really blame Justin for much... Britney's career didn't dip at all after their split and she certainly took opportunities to slap him back... her media character was developing over the years of early career... i remember how the tabloids revelled in 'Crossroads' being a FLOP (even though it really wasn't). The real issues did start arising after her marriage to Jason, then Kevin... I remember reading a review for Chaotic back in 2005 saying "Britney needs some time away. She's doing too much" etc. It is slightly ironic the public fascniation got her in the conservership and it might just be the reason she gets out of it.
February 18, 20214 yr @1362040661915140099 Love this post because she acknowledges all the other female artists who have been ridiculed and exploited and built up to be torn back down again. Females seem to get it FAR worse than any male act does. Look at Spice Girls every single one of them was annihilated by the press their solo offerings torn to shreds just because the better story was to tear them down that keep building them up. Victoria Beckham was villainised like no one I've ever known. The likes of Cher and Madonna having to fight for their credibility in a way male artists have never had to. Females constantly pitted against each other in fake stories.... it's appalling and Britney has had one of the worst treatments of them all.
February 18, 20214 yr ‘Framing Britney Spears’ review: heartbreakingly human story that still lacks a happy ending ⭐⭐⭐⭐ An underlying sadness pervades this TV documentary about the mistreated pop star Read the full NME Review HERE

Tbh, although Justin Timberlake did contribute to this he's a bit of an afterthought. The people I ultimately blame are her father (who I am now thoroughly convinced is the actual DEVIL) and K-Fed whose intentions were always dishonorable and harmful from the get go. And Diane Sawyer. I hope she's really feeling the backlash and ashamed of herself right now. Edited February 19, 20214 yr by Tawdry Hepburn

February 20, 20214 yr My parents have seen the documentary and said how cruel the media and general public were to her and how the treatment she got in the U.S. at the time of her breakdown was disgusting, which it was. I'm going to catch up with it this weekend. It's crazy to think how attitudes have changed towards mental health in just the last few years. I doubt many people would get away with doing or saying the things they did back in 2007. Edited February 20, 20214 yr by Spice Girls Net
February 20, 20214 yr Well Britney had to be the world’s guinea pig in order for the conversation on mental health to move forward respectfully..
