100m streams!

Wow is that like their 3rd fastest song to reach 100m? I assume WLM and SOTME were faster

Surely we're not only getting one remix of this?

I really hope they are holding back an Acoustic / Different remixes for next week?

Wasn't that Mel B or C?

I'm pretty sure PCD wouldnt call LM overly sexual with songs like Buttons and Don't Cha

It was Melanie C and to be fair she didn't really criticise the girls she just said that she didn't think it was appropriate for her daughter to see and that she thought it was a shame after how cool and funky they were previously that they had decided to start being more sexualised. She has since continued to be very supportive of the girls and even then she was saying how talented they were and how she was a big fan. The whole thing was ridiculously overblown.

I also agree with her, the Move era is the coolest Little Mix ever looked and the focus in entirely on the awesome music and the amazing talent. While I support their right to be as sexualised as they wish to be, it is a shame that they want to. But if they want to then good for them. It's not criticising or hating just to state an opinion about someone / something.

I don't think it was overblown. I listened to the interview back then. Mel C needs to chill. She commented on their dressing and how it's not appropriate for her daughter to watch. Fine; then she should stop her daughter from watching! She is her daughter's parent, not Little Mix.

Sexualized dressing? What did the spice girls wear? From the iconic 1997 brit performance, to the music videos of Say You'll be There, WDYTYA, etc, what is the difference? I mean, even with the era difference, the dressing of the spice girls was still " in your face".

Everything was wrong with what she said. Even she has admitted she was a hypocrite for saying that. I doubt she'd utter such again!

Yeah Mel C literally said something along the lines of it wasn't like that back in her day, even though they used to perform an entire number supposedly naked on tour.

Exactly! Geri's breasts literally fell off on stage whilst picking up British video award.

People need to leave little mix alone, else they'd face my fury!

At which point did I say Spice Girls didn't sometimes dress overtly sexualised? I mean Geri worn an S&M costume in the Say you'll be there video ffs.

I think it was more directed to the Touch video from what I recall where Perri looked nude and they were humping the floor etc... big difference when your child is trying to copy that routine. Also Little Mix have no responsibility for it but I guess as a parent when you've had you child be a fan of a girl band who suddenly become much more sexualised (which they did tbf right or wrong) it's quite jarring to suddenly have to tell your child no you can't watch them anymore...

Again it's a shame women have to be so sexualised all the time, but if they wish to be then that's their prerogative indeed, doesn't mean people can't have an opinion about it.

Btw I do think it was slightly hypocritical of Mel but I also think her comments were not too far off the mark and many of my friends with young children felt the same way, and the majority of their fan base at their concert I went to was very young girls so I get it.

It had nothing to do with Touch, she said it right before or after they performed SOTME at The X Factor for the first time.

She also said:

“But they are getting more provocative. To me, they were kind of the closest thing to the Spice Girls we’ve seen. They are all gorgeous and great singers. But they weren’t sexy and it’s got more and more that way. I love them – but I just say, ‘Stay you’."

She both implies that they used to be similar to the Spice Girla but aren't anymore because they're provocative (which, as we've established is incredibly hypocritical because the Spice Girls were very sexualized) and says that Little Mix were somehow not being true to themselves because they were adult women wearing whatever they wanted to wear.

I'm sorry but Mel C was completely wrong in every way in what she said.

Exactly this - it was said in very bad taste.

Ah I wasn't aware of this one, I saw the interview where she was part of a question and answer fan thing promoting Version of me, and she said that her views came from being a mother and how she felt like they had become more sexualised and it was a shame as they had been great role models for her young daughter but she now felt uneasy about allowing her to watch the routines and the costumes. She then said herself about how Geri wore latex and thigh high boots in SYBT so maybe she was just old and hypocritical. She also said she wasn't keen on it with Rihanna and Madonna either but she felt they catered to a different audience.

1 Ed Sheeran - Bad Habits (40.0k)

2 The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber - Stay (23.4k)

3 Jonasu - Black Magic (19.4k)

5 Galantis, David Guetta & Little Mix - Heartbreak Anthem (15.5k)

Such am interesting year in the singles charts. There really is no one week wonder apart from sweet melody. Bad Habits is not going anywhere soon; unless maybe the Weeknd snatches the top spot with his new release?🤔
