Posted February 18, 20214 yr 5. The Universal 'The Universal' featured on Blur's fourth studio album, The Great Escape. It was released on 13 November 1995 as the second single from that album, charting at number five on the UK Singles Chart. In keeping with the song's science fiction theme, the single's cover art is an allusion to the opening shot of 2001: A Space Odyssey, and the music video is a tribute to the movie A Clockwork Orange, with the band dressed up in costumes similar to Alex and his droogs. February 19, 20214 yr Good to see my favourite Blur song is still in. ooh you tease keeping us in suspense! Tender again. My fave Blur songs are out already, and one wasn't even in the list in the first place (Under The Westway) :o
February 19, 20214 yr I've voted for Parklife about 6 times now, and assumed I'd end up transferring my vote and supporting it to win, as I definitely prefer it to the two favourites but it certainly wouldn't make my top 10 of this album. I've just been happy to add my vote to whichever of that trio has also had support to save my faves! Edited February 19, 20214 yr by RabbitFurCoat

February 19, 20214 yr I'm not clued up on a lot of their singles but how on earth did Country House finish 3rd last?! One of their best for sure. Girls & Boys easily the best song remaining. I actually find both Song 2 & especially Parklife quite annoying songs.
February 25, 20214 yr We should really close this now so the glorious ‘Tender’ gets to the next round!
