According to IMDb release date Sept 28th in Germany so I am assuming it will be in cinemas shortly afterwards . Rob is in Singapore on Sept 17th but nothing then until OCT 18th in Abu Dhabi so I guess he will make an appearance in Germany which is usually his favourite place to launch new projects

Oh my goodness that's only a month away :o

Yes I guess he will go to the premiere's in London, Germany, maybe Australia and didn't we read it was going to open first in Canada?

I highly doubt it will be released anytime soon, there's been no promo for it whatsoever - not even a poster!

IMDB can be changed by anyone.

Looking forward to the real thing :P

Some scenes of the upcoming Robbie Williams Biopic 'Better Man', filmed at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena (The movie is being filmed in Melbourne), the crowd were told to imagine it was 1994 in Manchester, England, at Take Thats biggest ever show. The scenes shown here we were told phones were ok but earlier scenes we were told not to use them (obviously no smartphones around in 1994)

Rob said it’ll be out ‘next year’ in that interview he did recently for the UAE gig.

He also said it’s ‘genius’ - so that is hopeful!

So, in the end they have decided to launch the documentary firstly instead of the movie.

I suppose it's a better way for more attention to the movie. At least nowadays when the movies' quality isn't good in overall.

So are we guessing that the new album will be out in the spring along with the new movie?
It sounds as though they’ve been putting finishing touches on the album in Switzerland recently - so who knows, maybe the album will surprise-drop following the documentary?

Robbie Williams: Monkey business, metaverse and my Dubai residency dreams

The world seemingly knows that Robbie Williams is up to some "monkey business" in his coming biopic Better Man, but he can't talk about it. Speaking to The National ahead of his Etihad Arena concert in Abu Dhabi, the British popstar is slightly frustrated with staying silent in response to reports that a computer-generated monkey will portray him in the film, which is in production. "It seems it's the worst kept secret and it has been impressed upon me not to mention the monkey," Williams tells The National.

"Well everybody knows about the monkey and I am at the forefront of these interviews, so what am I supposed to do?" Williams says this with a little tongue-in-cheek, but there is no hiding the serious ambition of the film. Directed by Michael Gracey, the Australian filmmaker behind The Greatest Showman, Better Man will cover Williams's three-decade career from his time with the boy band Take That to his solo stardom. Principal photography began last year in Sydney where concert footage was taken from his Australian tour. Williams says the film will take a more satirical approach as it mirrors the nature of his career.

He describes the success as similar to the whimsical story of the fictional character Forrest Gump, played by Tom Hanks in the 1994 Oscar-winning movie. "I am incredibly ambitious and that still hasn't waned now that I am older," he adds. "That hasn't gone anywhere and the opportunities keep presenting themselves to me. "The universe has gifted me so much and because of that I'm still ambitious, I am still competitive."

This explains the flurry of new projects Williams is working on as he celebrates the 25th anniversary of his solo career. In addition to Better Man, he is the subject of a self-titled and four-part Netflix documentary set to be released on November 8. Also announced is a metaverse concert in which Williams will perform in a virtual reality city as part of a partnership with the British online platform LightCycle. With the date still to be announced, Williams, 49, doesn’t know what to expect from the metaverse gig.

But he is tickled by the notion of celebrating his history in a futuristic setting and admits his embrace of technology came later than most of his peers. “I've always been confused with social media and now all of a sudden I've caught up,” he says. "It's taken me 15 years, but I'm now here and I am totally involved in social media on a day-to-day basis. “The metaverse is incredibly interesting to me, where it once wasn't. So I'm here, middle-aged guy, trying things out, kicking the whips on this thing. So let's see.”

One thing we can all be sure of is the singer should deliver a crowd-pleasing show in person in Abu Dhabi. In addition to a hit-laden setlist ranging from gorgeous ballads Angels and Feel to the storming Kids and Let Me Entertain You, Williams has an affable demeanour on stage and peppers his shows with quirky stories and banter. While it all feels effortless, he says everything on stage has been refined and calculated for the best results. “I'm an entertainer and everything I do is about trying to elicit the best moment I can give to the people that have paid good money to come and see me,” he says. “I'm never really in the moment. I'm always a few seconds ahead of the audience figuring out what I'm going to do next as well as desperately trying to sing in key. “So it's not a communal thing for me. Instead, I'm trying to elicit a communal feeling from the audience. What I am thinking about is entertainment.”

This will be Williams's fifth concert in the UAE, having made his first appearance in 2006 in Dubai's Nad Al Sheba Racecourse while his most recent stopover was a lavish 2021 New Year's Eve show at Atlantis, The Palm.

Williams hopes all those experiences will eventually pay off in an ambitious goal to build his own hotel, complete with a residency show. He has floated the idea in interviews for more than a year, including one with The National last December, revealing his desire to be an ambassador of entertainment for Dubai "because I can see what it is and what it can become".

So, can visitors expect to stay in the funky Rock DJ hotel suite or dine by the elegant Millennium pool anytime soon? Not so fast, Williams suggests, but some discussions are under way. "There have been some advancements from when I first started talking about it and trying to manifest it into reality," he says. "I have always looked for opportunities, whether it's with entertainment or songs or when I do interviews to present myself in a certain way.

“And UAE is a land of opportunity and it just fits my ethos as a whole.”

Robbie Williams performs on Wednesday at Etihad Arena, Abu Dhabi. Doors open at 7.30pm; from Dh325; etihadarena.ae

Paramount Sets Release Plan For Robbie Williams’ Musical Film ‘Better Man’ By Michael Gracey

Mike Fleming Jr

EXCLUSIVE: Buoyed by the overperformance of music-driven films Bob Marley: One Love and Mean Girls, Paramount Pictures has slotted Better Man for an exclusive qualifying release on December 25, followed by a wide theatrical release on January 17 in the heat of awards season. The film is an original musical by The Greatest Showman director Michael Gracey, based on the life and music of singer Robbie Williams.

Paramount earlier this month made a $25 million commitment for North American rights to the film, one of the largest indie film rights deals in years. The studio believes it has a winner — it leaned into Bob Marley and the film has so far grossed north of $123M worldwide on a $70 million budget. The challenge on Better Man will come in the marketing: North America is about the only place on the planet where Williams is not a megastar singer, even though he spends most of his time in the U.S. There is an opportunity for America and Canada to discover the music of a singer who had a Harry Styles-like boy band career launch, and then became a huge star on his own.

Deadline broke the story about Better Man when it was a package at Berlin 2021, when CAA Media Finance arranged the financing and repped domestic distribution rights, with Thorsten Schumacher at Rocket Science handled international sales and sold out every territory.

Gracey wrote the script with first-time screenwriters Oliver Cole and Simon Gleeson. The film tells the story of Williams’ ascent, exploring the experiences that made him who he is, and the demons he battled both on and off the stage as he became a huge star on the back of hits like Angels. It’s a very original exercise in storytelling, much different from the usual music biopic.

Paul Currie, Gracey, Coco Xiaolu Ma, Jules Daly and Craig McMahon produced. Pic was majority financed by Sina Studios and Facing East, and filmed on location in Victoria, Australia and at Docklands Studios with support of the Victorian government and VicScreen and Screen Australia’s Producer Offset Program.

Williams first became famous at 16 as a singer in the boy-band sensation Take That, but really hit stride as a solo artist. It happened fast, with 11 out of 12 of his studio albums charting No. 1 in the UK, and six of them among the top 100 biggest-selling albums there. His tours are instant sellouts and he made the Guinness Book for selling 1.6 million tickets for a tour in a day. He has long been a provocative, outsized global personality, except stateside. At least not yet.

Paramount Sets 'Naked Gun' Remake for 2025 Release, Dates Robbie Williams Musical 'Better Man'

Paramount has dated several of their upcoming live-action features, including a Liam Neeson-starring remake of "The Naked Gun" and the Robbie Williams-centric musical "Better Man."

Set for July, the still untitled "Naked Gun" remake sees Akiva Schaffer direct and executive produce. Dan Gregor and Doug Mand are listed as screenwriters alongside Schaffer. The trio previously worked on the Emmy-winning film "Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers," which premiered on Disney+ in 2022. Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins will produce via their company Fuzzy Door.

The "Naked Gun" franchise, which spawned three films between 1988 and 1994 followed Frank Drebin (originally played by Leslie Nielsen) and was a send-up of popular crime dramas and films noir. It's unknown how closely this new iteration, with Neeson in the Nielsen role, will follow the original Jim Abrahams and Zucker brothers films.

Meanwhile, Michael Gracey's follow-up to "The Greatest Showman," the Robbie Williams original musical "Better Man," nabs a prime Christmas day release date. Paramount Pictures paid $25 million for the rights to the film about the British pop star in early February. Simon Gleeson, Oliver Cole and Gracey penned the script. Paul Currie, Gracey, Coco Xiaolu Ma, Jules Daly and Craig McMahon will produce. It's still not known what the plot of the movie will be specifically.

The studio has also dated the movie "Novacaine," starring Jack Quaid, with a March release. That film, directed by Robert Olsen and Dan Berk, is described as "a high concept action movie about a sheltered bank executive (Quaid) with a rare genetic condition that prevents him from feeling pain. When his bank is robbed and one of his co-workers (Amber Midthunder) is kidnapped, he is forced to act and turn his greatest liability into his greatest strength."

The Dakota Fanning-starring "Vicious" is now set to debut in August. Bryan Bertino, director of "The Strangers," takes the helm on this. The story follows a young woman (Fanning) who must spend the night fighting for her existence as she slips down a disturbing rabbit hole contained inside a gift left for her by a mysterious admirer.

"Naked Gun" hits theaters July 18, 2025; "Better Man" will debut December 25, 2024 with a wide release on January 17, 2025; "Novacaine" premieres March 14, 2025 and "Vicious" on August 8, 2025.

After much anticipation, Paramount has confirmed Robbie Williams' biopic Better Man will be released in late 2024.

The production company announced in February 2024 that the movie will be released in America on December 25, and the UK on January 17, 2025.

Robbie Williams is one of the biggest selling UK artists of all time. The singer from Stoke's life story will be played out on the silver screen in a big-budget biopic entitled Better Man.

Robbie Williams and Australian filmmaker Michael Gracey, who directed the box-office smash The Greatest Showman, are in charge of the project and cast and crew have been spotted filming iconic scenes from the star's life on the streets of London. Robbie fans were given the chance to appear in the film in November 2022, when Robbie filmed two shows at London's Royal Albert Hall for the movie.

With news that the movie is well on its way, we bring you everything you need to know about the former Take That star's film's plot, cast, soundtrack, release date and more.

The film has been billed as 'a musical fantasy' and is being filmed in the Docklands Studios in Melbourne throughout 2022, and in the UK in 2023.

Back in December 2021, director Michael Gracey made an official announcement that the Robbie Williams film was being made. "To tell Robbie Williams’s beautiful, distinct story, back home, in my own city, is a dream come true," he enthused. "There is a creative energy that burns across the Melbourne film industry, and I know this movie will thrive here." Simon Gleeson, Oliver Cole, and Gracey wrote the film's screenplay together and the Better Man's producers are Paul Currie, Gracey, Coco Xiaolu Ma, Jules Daly, and Craig McMahon.

In typical Robbie Williams style, the singer hasn't held back in revealing the ups and downs behind the making of the film. Speaking about the biopic, Robbie said: "The thing is about films is that it is a wonder anything gets made. "Everything gets held up in a bottleneck. It is always, 'This person says no and this person says yes and this person is offended and this person is not offended enough.' It is agents and lawyers."

Robbie Williams is set to star as himself in the new movie about his life. The Stoke legend will take the lead role and British actor Jonno Davies, 29, who has been spotted dancing on London's Regent Street dressed as the star – plays the younger version of Robbie.

Actor Jake Simmance plays Robbie's Take That bandmate Gary Barlow, alongside Liam Head playing Howard Donald, Jesse Hyde as Mark Owen and Chase Vollenweider playing Jason Orange. Steve Pemberton plays his dad Peter, while Alison Steadman plays mum Betty.

Insiders are being secretive about what will appear on the soundtrack to the Robbie Williams movie. With smash hits including 'Angels', 'She's The One', 'Supreme', 'Feel', 'Rock DJ' and many more to choose from, producers may be struggling to reduce them down to just a few! Speaking to Deadline in 2021, Gracey confirmed the songs will be adapted for the film.

“All Robbie’s songs will be re-sung, for the emotion of the moment,” he said. "If he’s in the depths of despair, he’s not going to sing a song as cabaret flamboyant showmanship; it’s going to be broken, acapella, stripped down, because that’s where he is emotionally. In moments of pure joy, you’ll get songs sung in this whirlwind of hysteria. "So essentially every song in the film, Robbie will sing, but it will be performed for the emotion of that moment, and that scene.”

After much anticipation, Paramount has confirmed Robbie Williams' biopic Better Man will be released in late 2024.

The production company announced in February 2024 that the movie will be released in America on December 25, and the UK on January 17, 2025.

The film, which started production in May 2022, has not yet had its trailer release, but should be coming very soon.

What do you think the pre promotion of the biopic will start? Do you think the album will be out before or afterwards which would mean 2025? Any magic glass ball ideas?

I think the album will be promo'd prior to the film. That would make the most sense. -_-

Better Man': Robbie Williams Musical Headed to Venice, Telluride and TIFF!

Of all the titles announced this morning by TIFF, the most surprising news has Michael Gracey's “Better Man” — a biopic musical about musician Robbie Williams — headed to Venice, Telluride and Toronto. How did that happen?

Despite my initial skepticism, it does look as though Paramount is committed to turning this one into a major awards player. Of course, this could all just be for nothing, and the film turns out to be fluff, but it’s quite telling that the three major fall festivals have all taken a liking to it.

The film, starring Williams as himself, with Jonno Davies playing the younger version, and directed by Gracey (“The Greatest Showman”), was set up for a Christmas release by Paramount, months ago, but nobody paid much attention to it.
