Duh? Where have I said they slayed? I’ve literally said she’s a struggling artist…

It all sounds like she doesn’t have a clue what she’s doing. There are artists who don’t bother the top 40 but release music/albums and then go on tour yet she seems to just want to stop and start til something sticks. It’s a shame but it’s where she’s at, I wouldn’t be surprised to see her in the next series of Strictly etc then disappear into oblivion

I said this in the Leigh thread and it applies to her too but Jesy is the most obvious example of someone who wants to be a solo artist but wants to do the bare minimum when it comes to putting the work in to make it a success. Just showing up to Capital and Radio 1 for an interview on release day and doing two performances in 1.5 years isn't the work ethic of someone who actually cares about being a musician.

 

Mel C, Nadine Coyle and Una Healy are perfect examples of girl group members who leave their groups and hustle at every gig, festival and tiny radio station possible. They're happy to do medleys of their group hits. They're just happy to be on stage and doing what they love. Mel C funds all her own releases and Nadine has literally done gigs at bingo halls.

 

Mollie King was the same as Jesy. She showed up to Radio 1, done a gig at GAY and then waited a year to release another single before abandoning it all and moving to Strictly and presenting. Leigh will probably go the same way.

 

It's frustrating to see and understandable in a sense because they worked their arses off in Little Mix but it doesn't exactly encourage me to support them or go all out buying from iTunes and signed CDs etc if they're just relying on their fans to spend money on them and they're not even bothering to do anything to justify a solo career in the first place.

I don't know if this means anything but four songs have been registered on ASCAP with Jesy as a co-writer.

Cried Out is a song she filmed a video for in December last year. Heartbreak Hotel has also been rumoured for a very long time.

I don’t know if I believe this but she was definitely out with her manager in London on Friday.

It'd be hypocritical to judge this when she's had a harsh song clearly about her. It was bound to happen when there is a song about her, this was probably recorded back then.

Isn't it confirmed that at this point Jesy just left? No big goodbye or anything, her Management just informed them?

 

I don't think Jesy, or her fans actually, have the right to be playing the victim - LM3 stated that Cut You Off was the result of therapy, and given what we know, there was nothing scathing in that song. It's just how it is. They had to cut her off to move on.

 

Meanwhile this song is talking of "spreading rumours" and that there's a false narrative or whatever, meanwhile we literally know that this was all caused because LM3 approached Jesy about her excessive tanning. And Leigh (who this song is aimed at) hasn't perpetuated any rumours. She's actually been incredibly more graceful than she should have been IMO.

 

It's a very childish result from a very childish woman. She doesn't have a leg to stand on and going down this route is not going to do her any favours.

The rest of your post is hypocritical, if they make a harsh song about her she can write one about them. It is beyond hypocritical to claim she's childish but the others are not for 'Cut You Off', it is quite clear you're just saying this because you don't like her (and no-one is forcing you to) but enough of this double standards because it is absolute BS. You'd have to be incredibly naive to not expect a response to what happened and 'Cut You Off'.

 

I'm not sure what is graceful about DM'ing influencers to bad mouth Jesy and spread hate, but hey we'll just go in circles.

 

At the end of the day we do not know what happened, only they do. She is within her right to do a song about them, especially if they have made a scathing one about her. They have given their account, let her give hers.

 

We don't even know if it'll get released, I hope it does, it sounds like a bop like 'Cut You Off'.

She has set up a broadcast channel to speak to fans directly. She has also set up a Threads account.

 

She said something is in the works and that something is planned for 2024. I don’t think there’ll be an album as in another screenshots she seemed to avoid saying album but saying to expect something. Maybe an EP on streaming?

It is very disappointing not one solo album has been released by any them.

At this rate we will get a new Little Mix album before a solo album from one of them.
