We have 17 participants: chrissmith276, adrianreavill83, Mangø, Bjork, Dexton, Riser, Ansel, coi, PeteFromLeeds, CJK, Jade, LewisGT, paulgilb, JulianT, Mack, rio309, awardinary Now for the UNIQUELY EXTRA DOSS -> EQUINOX DAY RESULTS! (‘Q’ and ‘X’ are the only letters that didn’t appear in any of my anagrams, so I got them in here. Technically the equinox was yesterday, but I digress…) First a few summary stats: Total scores are out of 100 – the average was just over 48. There were 269 correct guesses for the 30 anagrams between the 17 of you. 9 people correctly guessed at least part of the theme and/or the order. One anagram was correctly guessed by all 17 people. As for the least correctly guessed anagram(s), let’s wait and see... First two answers on the way!

PRESIDENT HEALS HAIRDO -> PRAISE THE LORD (DA SHINE) – A$AP Rocky (feat. I didn’t deduct any points for leaving out the featured artists, so provided you put A$AP Rocky (with a ‘$’ or an ‘S’), you got the 1 point for the artist here.

RINSED THE HOT TRACK -> CHEERS (DRINK TO THAT) - Rihanna Peak #15 (2011) | Letters 17 | Guessed by 6 3 points chrissmith276, Mangø, Bjork, Dexton, JulianT, Mack 0 points Riser [Katy Perry - Dark Horse] One of the more apt anagrams in the quiz – this was one of 14 songs with which Rihanna appeared in the Top 40 during 2011.

Well anyway, the grammatically incorrect (even in text-speak) Since U Been Gone kickstarted Kelly’s most commercially successful era with an aesthetically pleasing 5-6-7-6-5 opening run. It’s also one of a few songs to have borrowed a little from The Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Maps. 6. LATE DISCO TOWN -> CLINT EASTWOOD - Gorillaz Peak #4 (2001) | Letters 13 | Guessed by 7 3 points chrissmith276, Mangø, Bjork, Dexton, LewisGT, JulianT, Mack 0 points Riser [Madonna - This Used To Be My Playground], PeteFromLeeds [Elastic DoTown], rio309 [i Want To Closed] The first hit for the animated band, this was bouncing around the lower half of the Top 6 exactly 20 years ago. Controversially, I still prefer the Ed Case / Sweetie Irie “refix” which got most of the airplay at the time.

Martin Solveig is the joint lead so I docked half a point if you only mentioned Jax Jones. 16. FUNKY LOGOS -> YOUNG FOLKS - Peter Bjorn & John (feat. This song originally made the Top 40 in 2006 but peaked on re-release after the distinctive whistling hook was featured in an advert the following year.

ENTER UNION CONCERT -> RETURN TO INNOCENCE - Enigma Peak #3 (1994) | Letters 17 | Guessed by 5 3 points chrissmith276, Mangø, Bjork, coi, JulianT 0 points Riser [Madonna - Another Suitcase In Another Hall] We go back to 1994 for the earliest peaking song in the quiz. Only this week it was placed 47th in Buzzjack’s Ultimate UK Number 3 Single so I thought maybe a few more of you might have worked it out. They had eight Top 20 hits in the 1990s, including one #11 and four which peaked at #12, of which this is one. Appropriately for the anagram, The Clash’s Joe Strummer guested on honky tonk piano on it. It’s another one where you could reasonably guess the title even if you didn’t know the song. 20. SURE HAD FUN, BUT READ -> DEAR FUTURE HUSBAND - Meghan Trainor Peak #20 (2015) | Letters 17 | Guessed by 7 3 points chrissmith276, Mangø, Bjork, Dexton, PeteFromLeeds, LewisGT, JulianT 0 points Riser [Madonna - This Used To Be My Playground] Meghan’s third UK hit, which some have suggested bears a resemblance to Olly Murs’ Dance With Me Tonight, although both songs have a doo-wop influence that goes back much further. Originally a #28 hit in 1997, a remix took it back to the exact same position a few months later. It was ETA’s only charting single - and two weeks too late for the bonus question in Pete’s Dingbats quiz, above is a YouTube link to a track by a Danish act :)
