Have to agree with CS here it’s not the office holders job to maintain or repair a government building. It’s like claiming I work in the council housing department and I should pay to repair it, I clean and maintain and tidy my own desk and iamspamspamamiand but of course that’s different. But SH is correct of course about a pot of money to make the flat their own as they might be there for a decade.

There’s a difference between routine repairs and refurbishment because the new occupants don’t like what the previous occupants did. As I said above, an incoming PM gets a grant to cover the latter. Let’s face t, the more one occupant spends on doing a flat up to their own tastes, the more likely it is that the next occupants will hate it.

It's a Government building. With respect, do you pay for any repairs for your classroom ie if there was a burst radiator? No. All this is just another reason to have a go at our elected pm with an 80 seat majority.

Are we talking burst radiators or giving it a lick of paint? I actually did paunt my own classroom when I took it over, with my own money and time too. In a way, yes I do pay for such repairs as that money comes from the school budget which means less money for our faculties given how badly funded schools are.

And yes, I will take any reason to have a go at Johnson. He is repulsive and self serving and him being elected just says a lot about the morons who voted him in.

Perhaps you might actually address the topic of the thread rather than just finding something to be sycophantic about.

Well done. That's very admirable of you.

As to the flags, yes I think we should fly as many as possible. People should fly them from their homes. Let's take a pride in our country.

Yes, let's take pride in our country.

Let's not encourage politicians, who have a serious job to do, getting bogged down in cloth-based dick-waving to prove who is more patriotic than thou. There are actual societal problems that they aren't fixing. Strikes me that letting those problems compound would be a lot more unpatriotic than appearing without a union on the telly.

Which is, of course, exactly why the government are making such a fuss about it.

Well it's the Euros coming up, I'm sure there will be places that go one step further and paint their houses if Scotland, Wales or England do a half decent job!

It’s getting more stupid by the day.

Jesus Christ!! This authoritarian government is a walking joke. Brexshir flopped, but let's cover ourselves in flags instead! Funny how none of these flag humpers had loads od flags in appearances before now.

Which flag is the right lower corner one???
Thailand, she was speaking to a Thai minister. The similar colours make it look like if you're not looking carefully enough that it's more Union Jacks, too many countries using red, white and blue.
