From these last few batches I adore: epiphany, marjorie, Bad Blood (Remix) and seven - the latter of course being an 11 for me as pointed out, gives me chills  the continued efforts with the commentary is really appreciated!

#30-#28:

30. this is me trying [Avg. 8.66]
29. Haunted [Avg. 8.676]
28. The Man [Avg. 8.68]

Starting off is yet another track to fall from folklore. this is me trying sees her accepting fault for relationship issues and making an effort to repair them. It received several 10s (Cremey, Jade, Jay, John-James, me, Tafty), a 9.5 (Among Haus, Ultra), some 9s, a few 8s. Lowest is a 6 (Doug).

A track from Speak Now leaves the rank here. Haunted is about the moment that you realize the person you're in love with is drifting and fading fast. High score is a 10 (JosephStyles, Qween, Tafty, Ultra). Lowest is a 6. Lots of 8s, 8.5s, and 9s.

The fourth single from Lover goes out. The Man is described as "a synth-pop and electropop song with flashy harmonies, murky synths, and rumbling beats. Over an uptempo production, Taylor imagines the media's treatment of her if she were a man." High score is a 10 (Jade, London, Nina West, me, Riser, Ultra) and a low score of 6 (Blacksquare).
So pleased (and a little surprised) to see The Man finish this high!

The Man is so good - I particularly like the video. I love how the Lover area addresses different areas of prejudice in the cool way that it does. I know that’s not very articulate but I couldn’t think of the right way to say it!

27-25 will come in the next couple of days :)

Well I wasn't expecting all 3 of those to be anywhere near this high! I like them all but I think there were others that should've been a little higher

I was surprised at Haunted - I think it’s strange it managed this high. I had to remind myself what it sounded like

27.Call It What You Want[Avg. 8.69]

26.The 1[Avg. 8.81 (less 10s)]

25.The Last Great American Dynasty [Avg. 8.81 (more 10s)]

At number 27, is Call It What You Want, the second promotional single for Reputation. It is rumoured to be a love song about Joe Alwyn, who she’d been dating for a year at that point. Ultimately, it’s a song in which Taylor lets us know that she’s doing better than she was before (2016 was a little turbulent). Fun fact: Swift doesn’t start singing until 13 seconds into the song and as we all know, that’s her favourite number. The song peaked inside the top 30 in the US and the U.K. and it’s a fan favourite. The song was given an 11 from Doug and 10s from Ultra, John-James, Jktoon, Cremey & Blacksquare. Its lowest score was a 6 from Ho-Lee Smokes.

And now we have two more songs from Folklore departing. The first is The 1, which was one of the more popular tracks on release, peaking at number 10. I really liked this song and listened to it a lot early on (I could relate to that feeling of looking back on a past relationship which in hindsight, came so close to being the main event - but not quite) but a year on, I return to some of the other tracks on the album much more. I wonder if it would come this high in a future rate, not so close to the release date of Folklore? It achieved one 11 from Blacksquare and 10s from Dexton and Nina West. It had a lot of 8s and 9s too - pretty consistent scoring.

Number 25: The Last Great American Dynasty. I love this song; it quickly became a favourite of mine on release and had my highest play count in 2020. I think this is Taylor’s story telling at its best as it takes us through the journey of “a misfit widow getting gleeful revenge on the town that cast her out" (Taylor). I actually just get lost in the lyrics, as the pictures travel through my mind - I kinda got obsessed with it last year to be fair, until Willow came along. Very glad this finished top 25 although top 20 would have been better ;) So, no surprises it is one of my 11s. It also receives 10s from both my fellow mods and Jktoon. It was given a lot of 9s, some 8s and a couple of 7s. Great scoring :)

Both of those folklore tracks are stunning. I do feel like better songs from folklore (epiphany especially!) should've been just as high/higher though.

Wasn't expecting Call It What You Want to be this high but again I do like it!

24.no body, no crime (ft. HAIM)[Avg. 8.84]

23.champagne problems[Avg. 8.89]

22.All Too Well[Avg. 8.93]

21.New Romantics [Avg. 8.95]

Once again I am so so sorry about the delay, the last couple of months have been HECTIC. The aim was always to get finished by the end of 2021 as this is our big event to cover all of 2021, so that will definitely happen x I hope y'all are still here commenting and participating and enjoying <3

Anyway let's kick off with number 24 and 23 as we lose two tracks from evermore, meaning that lead single willow is the only song from that album that remains in the rate! Both no body, no crime and champagne problems officially charted top 20 in the UK and were by far the most popular album tracks from evermore straight away so I'm not surprised to see them placing so high here!! no body, no crime is a country BOP that really utilises Taylor's storytelling nature in the best way possible, the lyrics are so good and I love the progression of the murder story being told. HAIM provide some fabulous backing vocals and they work so well together on this song. I wish we got a video for this song as I feel it would've slayed. NB, NC got an average of 8.84, receiving 10s from blacksquare, Doug, jade, Nina west, tafty & myself! However a 5.5 from Dexton and a couple other low-ish scores affected it big time here! Continuing on with evermore, we have the absolutely gorgeous career highlight best on evermore champagne problems  This song was an instant favourite from evermore for me, the piano melody is so beautiful, the lyrics and story are utterly heartbreaking and that BRIDGE whew. One of her best bridges ever and that really says something, it builds so beautifully and it's easily one of my go to songs when I'm depressed now. Taylor's vocals are so beautiful and delicate on the track too and this is one of my all time favourites, I really wish this snuck top 20 here but it still did so well considering how recent it is! CP had an average of 8.89 and received 10s from John-James, London, Lunar, Tafty and myself once again! CP received consistent scores on the whole, receiving nothing lower than a 7!

In 21st and just missing out on the top 20 is bop of life New Romantics, which was the final single from the blockbuster 1989 era! Proving how amazing the single choices were that era, New Romantics is only the 5th highest single from 1989 in this rate!! New Romantics also has the distinction of being the highest placed track here to not appear on the standard version of an album, because for some reason this was only a deluxe track!!! The video is good fun for tour memories but I really wish this got a proper push as a single with a great and proper video as I still feel this could have been a massive hit despite being so late in the campaign! New Romantics is just pure-pop magic, pop-perfection, I love the production and lyrics and it really is just one of those songs where you just let go of everything and have so much fun! NR received a fab average of 8.95 and again I kinda wish it snuck a top 20 placing here!

And yep you might have noticed I went straight from 23 to 21. And that's because I am MAD. at the INJUSTICE that we're going to have to discuss now. HOW THE f*** DID ALL TOO WELL NOT FINISH TOP 20 HERE?!?! Actually fuming. And honestly shocked. I thought it would definitely make the top 10, let alone not even finish top 20 wtaf. All too well remains one of Taylor's most essential songs and best songs of all time, what a masterpiece from start to finish <3 Lyrically it's probs in her top 3 ever. Every single verse progresses the story beautifully, the chorus' is fab with the little lyric switch-ups each time. The first verse is stunning and we love the scarf introduction, the 2nd verse is beautiful and evokes so many strong and powerful images. and the BRIDGE. whew. her best bridge ever. which says a lot. Argh. The EMOTION. the lyrics. You called me up again to break me like a promise   One of the best moments in a song of all time that breaks and shatters my heart into a million pieces every single time still despite hearing it a billion times. The post-bridge is also underrated af and stunning, the time line whew and the scarf metaphor coming back to relevance here whew, songwriting masterpiece and still emotional af. And the final chorus is cathartic and perfect. Whew, one of the best songs ever that deserved better in this rate!! All Too Well has really become a fan favourite and honestly a cult classic at this point, to the point that publications include this on their lists of best songs ever as their Taylor entry despite it never even being a single, absolutely insane how much impact an album track has had!! It's out streaming most of the Red singles and I'm so excited for Taylor's version + the 10 min version which is going to break and ruin me!!! There's a reason this is her most acclaimed song and is starting to be seen as her career defining masterpiece. Anyway y'all are flops letting this miss the top 20. Despite missing the top 20, this received FOUR 11s from Cremey, Lunar, Tafty and myself and four 10s but a 5 and a couple of other average-ish scores affected this  All Too Well is a timeless masterpiece
