Such a low early position which will have counted all the pre orders suggests sales for the week will be under 1000.

Midweek #95 on Tuesday is probably around 650 copies. There's a pretty strong possibility it won't go Top 200 on Friday because it'll need approaching 900 sales to comfortably make it. I don't see them attracting 200+ CD sales from LiveHereNow in the next 3 days if they could only manage 600-ish during a pre-order window that lasted over 5 months.

I mean sure that's disappointing but they managed to make an already quite niche release into something even more niche by restricting its availability to just one store.

I think overall the release can be considered a success based on the various Video charts, the charts that seemingly 4 out of the 5 formats contributed towards.

Random niggle but 'Steps' was left off the spine of the A5 book, it only says What the Future Holds Live on it.

The combined overall result is a success.

The DVD clearly was the more popular format with the CD version appealing to a much smaller part of the fans.

That said, the CD format I fully expected to achieve at least 1000 sales.

I doubt it will be Top 200 either. Only being #28 in the sales chart doesn't look promising for that (sometimes albums that are Top 20 on sales aren't even in the Top 200).
Hopefully it managed to enter the top 200 but as you have pointed out its unlikely, and there was me only a few weeks ago think it would go top 20.
Quite an odd release strategy. It's expensive and restricted to one niche store, that most people have never heard of. Such a wasted opportunity.
It was an odd strategy but this type of album was always a very niche release.

Even as a niche release it would have picked up more sales if it had been available on HMV and Amazon etc, I mean to not even have it on their own site was weird. Considering they are still touring they could also have done some promo for it, was it even mentioned on their socials?

I agree it was weird and it had further potential to sell more, maybe theybtried it this way as they thought they would make more from it selling directly rather than paying a middle man. I wonder will they make it available on hmv etc in the coming weeks.
My copy of this is due to arrive this week! Though I’ll probably have to wait until next weekend to watch it.

Was it shipped late?
