April 18, 20214 yr Applause DWUW Gypsy Sexxx Dreams (feat. Beyoncé) (this was rumoured to exist i believe) ARTPOP That was Rihanna, not Beyoncé. @381135514847678464
April 18, 20214 yr Rihanna was yuuge back then and would have helped her have a hit with it. With Rihanna, it could have been a first single ... but like everything on thr album, it suffers from extremely bad, jarring production, and the verse-chorus dissonance and dichotomy sounds very 90s, like the sort of thing that All Saints used to do. The biggest song by far is Gypsy. In fact, if she had GOOD advice, she would have released Gypst first, followed by Brooklyn Nights second, a reworked Sexx Dreams with Rihanna 3rd, Artpop and Applause 4th or 5th in whatever order. That would have worked.

April 18, 20214 yr It would work. Gypsy is the best track, ARTPOP sounds like an early Madonna song, really melodic.

April 19, 20214 yr 'gypsy' and 'sexx dreams' were defo missed opps and I do think the title track would have been a nice top 20 hit and a radio hit.
April 20, 20214 yr Single 1: Applause Single 2: Do What U Want (feat. Christina Aguilera) ~Album Release~ Single 3: Gypsy Single 4: Sexxx Dreams (REMIX) [feat. The Weeknd] Single 5: G.U.Y Single 6: Fashion! (REMIX) [feat. RuPaul]
April 22, 20214 yr Single #1: Gypsy Single #2: Venus/Do What U Want [Dual Release] Single #3: Sexxx Dreams (ft Rihanna) Single #4: Aura Single #5: Dope [uSA Release] Single #6: Applause I have decided to re-do what I would have done for this era, after having another listen through & looking at this original run (& some of the comments), it was time for a re-think, so here goes? Single #1: Applause I know this wasn't everybody's fave choice, but it did work well enough commercially & its a catchy track that actually carries some symbolic meaning. Plus this did create interest for what's to come. Single #2: Do What U Want (ft Christina Aguilera) SCRAP R-Kelly & have Xtina instead, then everything wouldn't have went wrong & plus this would have done a whole lot better without leaving such a bad taste in everybody's mouth. Single #3: Gypsy Release this in January 2014 instead of the 5 month wait between releases, then this could have its chance to shine as its an enjoyable & euphoric number that would have been tailored made for radio & kept interest in the era going on for a few months longer. Single #4: Sexxx Dreams (ft Rihanna or Beyonce) One of the greatest tracks on here & if it featured one of the said artists like it was supposed then this could have easily been another chart SMASH. A true hidden gem in her discography & one of her biggest missed opportunities for a single release. Single #5: MANiCURE This could have also made for a killer single if handled properly, one of the catchiest moments on the album & mainstream enough for the public to enjoy. Single #6: Dope (USA) G.U.Y. (Europe) For the final release I'd have a dual release - 'Dope' for the American market which shows Gaga's raw emotion & something that has a lot of meaning to it. (Plus this charted top 10 there already) so a success already over there. Then for Europe have 'G.U.Y.' along with that epic music video & the hype of 'Artpop' still going with the previous successful singles. Okay I doubt this would have also been a chart smash, but alongside the other track, these would have been great closers to the era. Edited April 22, 20214 yr by Nina West
May 7, 20214 yr Gypsy isn't commercial and wouldn't do well on the charts  Gypsy is the most commercial song on the album and would have been a huge hit and been a solid challemger to mega-hit, Roar.

May 8, 20214 yr Yes. Gypsy was performed on SNL and still didn't make it to the Hot 100, it wouldnt be a hit.
May 8, 20214 yr Gypsy was performed on SNL and still didn't make it to the Hot 100, it wouldnt be a hit. With a video and a push, it would have been no.1 ... as the first single. Artpop is so bad and rhe campaign was so messy thst GaGa nearly killed her career with it. Anything released after the mess of Applause and thr DWUW scandal would have majorly flopped. Gypsy is extremely commercial.
May 8, 20214 yr Author Gypsy would've worked better as the final track from the era I think with a video from the artRAVE tour. It's an anthem and even though Adelita has confirmed it wouldn't have been a hit, it would have been a nice treat for the fans across the globe and would've showcased a different side to her yet again! Sounds like an album seller too~
May 8, 20214 yr Gypsy needed to bw the first single. NOTHING performed on snl, even Bad Romance, woulda been a hit after the disastrously awful GUy flop.
May 8, 20214 yr Gypsy needed to bw the first single. NOTHING performed on snl, even Bad Romance, woulda been a hit after the disastrously awful GUy flop. But Gypsy was performed in November 2013, 4 months before GUY was released, there are no correlations between that. Applause should be and was the best choice for the first single on the album, I'm glad that Jimmy Iovine saved Gaga from a bigger disaster.

Applause should be and was the best choice for the first single on the album, I'm glad that Jimmy Iovine saved Gaga from a bigger disaster. Four months lol. Thr album was dead by that point. Guy reached no. 200? Guy was terrible, but had she not ruined the entire campaign, it would hqve done better than THAT. Nothing would have been a hit then. Gypsy needed to start the era, DWUW with Christina next, Sexx Dreams with a remix on the verses next, ARTPOP, and then the poor Applause to finish as an encore single. Done.
