April 16, 20215 yr I think this must be a mistake, as it was the tune of the weekend last week. I think it is again, it only got a couple of plays last Friday morning before obvious events happened and then they didn’t play it for the rest of the weekend.
April 16, 20215 yr I think this must be a mistake, as it was the tune of the weekend last week. Greg James played it this morning and said afterwards that it was going to be Tune of the Weekend this week. I was surprised (as it had been last week) and thought that it probably meant it wouldn't be playlisted... then saw this. Hopefully they play the hell out of it over the weekend and then let it drop into how many plays a C List track gets.
April 16, 20215 yr Lewis got lucky that The Prototypes weren't playlisted last week as that would have made it a veto in the BJSC :smoke: (I did have a feeling it might show up on the playlist at some point but this soon oops) Good to see Jade Bird added, found her output a bit hit and miss but this may be my favourite song to date from her. D-Block Europe can fall off a cliff any time they want to. Interesting that they have added both of the Dave songs for now, 'Titanium' is pretty clearly the more popular song so I could see them dropping 'Mercury' after a few weeks? And lol I guess someone behind the scenes at Radio 1 really must not be a fan of 'Leave The Door Open' indeed as someone posted the other week... that seems quite weird because it's been pretty universally loved by ~the critics~ as far as I'm aware? I guess the throwback soul vibe isn't necessarily something super suited to Radio 1 but I really thought they'd have been big supporters of this song considering they have supported Anderson .Paak plenty before. Shame but ah well ~
