April 18, 20214 yr Excellent entry there, Bray *.* and thank you for the bronze medal  almost an exact point swap!
April 18, 20214 yr Author Franz Schubert / Mike Foyle vs Signalrunners - Love Theme Dusk (Mike's Broken Record Mix) Bridging the world between classical and romantic eras, Franz Schubert, despite a tragically young death, was another Austrian talent left behind a vast ouevre of work noted for melody and harmony in his songs (lieder) and chamber music. Among other works are Symphony No. 9 in C Major (The Great; 1828), Symphony in B Minor (Unfinished; 1822), masses, and piano works. He has naturally progressed to a beautifully atmospheric piano and trance number from mentor, King Rollo which has gone down a storm. This was a great contest with plenty of different interpretations of the theme. This is my top 10: 12pts - Nils Frahm - Says 10 - Sergey Nevone & Simon O'Shine - Apprehension (Aly & Fila Mix) 8 - Venetian Snares - Második Galamb 7 - Ivan Torrent ft. Irene Rodríguez - Skyborn 6 - Matt Bukovski & Geert Huinink - Fields of Forever 5 - Keeno - Cosmic Creeper 4 - Etherwood - Hold Your Breath 3 - Lucine Fyelon - Showtime 2 - Dam Swindle - Coffee in the Morning 1 - Daler Mehndi - Bolo Ta Ra Ra Commiserations to Barcode Brothers, Archaellum and Safri Duo. 115; Igor Stravinsky / Matt Bukovski & Geert Huinink - Fields of Forever 111; George Friedric Handel / Keeno - Cosmic Creeper 109; Franz Schubert / Mike Foyle vs Signalrunners - Love Theme Dusk (Mike's Broken Record Mix) (King Rollo) 108; Robert Schumann / Nils Frahm - Says (Bré) 100; Claudio Monteverdi / Sergey Nevone & Simon O'Shine - Apprehension (Aly & Fila Mix) (photografdemon) 80; Frederic Chopin / Ivan Torrent ft. Rollo keeps his chances alive even though he falls to third with points to Keeno and Matt Bukovski ahead, just seven points separates them all, phew. With baited breath, we go to the leader for the most of the night, Igor Stravisnky
April 18, 20214 yr Ooh this is what we like to see at this moment...! Thank you very much Rollo <3 and your entry was easily my favourite of the trance offerings this time around! (and of course a belated thanks to everyone else who voted for Nils so far as well, particularly Noche for kicking me off with a 12 x)
April 18, 20214 yr Author Igor Stravinsky / Matt Bukovski & Geert Huinink - Fields of Forever Doing slightly better of the two Russian composers, Igor Stravinsky was best known for the Rites of Spring, a ballet that changed the way in which subsequent composers thought about rhythmic structure and was largely responsible for Stravinsky's enduring reputation as a revolutionary of Modernism who pushed the boundaries of musical design. He has truly thrown everything at the book with this stunning, cinematic trance/strings combination that's begging for a place on the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. His mentor, Dobbo, certainly did a good job, but can he just hold on? A huge thanks to everyone for making this a GREAT volume :dancing: As such thanks in part to the astoundingly high quality and a lil' bitta extra time I've taken the liberty to compile a full rank for your perusal. And an extended thanks to all those who voted for my thrilling entry Fields of Forever  INCREDIBLE +12: Mike Foyle vs Signalrunners - Love Theme Dusk (Mike's Broken Record Mix) +10: Venetian Snares - Második Galamb BRILLIANT +8: A.R.D.I. - Army of Angels +7: Safri Duo - Samb-Adagio +6: Sergey Nevone & Simon O'Shine - Apprehension (Aly & Fila Mix) +5: Party Pupils, MAX ft. Irene Rodríguez - Skyborn Jacoo - The Moments We Shared…I Miss Them Nils Frahm - Says Christopher von Deylen - Infinity Though it must be said I don't dislike a single song here, bravo  And in the words of Kasseem Dean, on to the next one! 121; Franz Schubert / Mike Foyle vs Signalrunners - Love Theme Dusk (Mike's Broken Record Mix) (King Rollo) 115; Igor Stravinsky / Matt Bukovski & Geert Huinink - Fields of Forever (Dobbo) 115; George Friedric Handel / Keeno - Cosmic Creeper 108; Robert Schumann / Nils Frahm - Says (Bré) 106; Claudio Monteverdi / Sergey Nevone & Simon O'Shine - Apprehension (Aly & Fila Mix) (photografdemon) 81; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart / Lucine Fyelon - Showtime (Jade) 80; Frederic Chopin / Ivan Torrent ft. Alna - Lonelier (uhsting) 13; Edward Elgar / Daler Mehndi - Bolo Ta Ra Ra (Haus) 05; Antonio Vivaldi / Jeff van Dyck - Medieval Total War Soundtrack: Arab Battle 1 (TheSnake) And we massively oop (and after such enthusiastic votes, I am a horrible person xx) It's not quite over yet though as while that was a pretty big foot shooting taking Mike Foyle into the lead, there is still a gap of six points. For obvious reasons, Keeno now cannot win and alas, Nils Frahm is too far behind, but it's still possible for Matt all depending on what the next composer gives them both... Our last voter of the night then...George Friederic Handel
April 18, 20214 yr A curse upon you for knocking me out of the running Dobbo  And for that reason I am rooting for Mike Foyle to hang on! (that and I liked that song slightly more than Matt Bukovski, though both are v good xx)
April 18, 20214 yr Well there's only me left..... delighted with how well Keeno have done :cheer: Without saying what has won, I didn't vote for everything in contention :o Also, to whoever gets my 12, thank you so much - I've even hunted down the vinyl this week as I loved it so much.
April 18, 20214 yr Author George Friedric Handel / Keeno - Cosmic Creeper George Frideric Handel was one of the most widely known German composers of the Baroque period and is particularly known operas, oratarios and instrumental compositions such as Messiah and Water Music to soundtrack the River Thames and Royal Fireworks. Under dandy*'s guidance, he has gone where no Baroque composer has gone before with drum'n'bass mixed with strings and piano to create a creppy soundtrack possibly beyond what he could've seen ;o Evening Chez! Thank you for hosting a wonderful contest, it's taken me a few listens but I'm finally in a place where I'm reasonably happy with my votes. I'm glad I took a few listens through this time too as my 12 pointer rose through the ranks each time, quite the grower and thank you to whoever sent it  As for the rest of them, perhaps unsurprisingly I found myself more drawn to the epic, ambient and more leftfield entries but there wasn't anything that I didn't enjoy to some degree or another. Even the poppier entries were a step up from usual for me. Anyway, enough waffle, here's my votes: 12 Mike Foyle vs Signalrunners - Love Theme Dusk (Mike's Broken Record Mix) 10 Archaellum - Reflections 08 Dam Swindle - Coffee in the Morning 07 Christopher von Deylen - Infinity 06 Jacoo - The Moments We Shared…I Miss Them 05 Nils Frahm - Says 04 A.R.D.I. - Army of Angels 03 Venetian Snares - Második Galamb 02 Ivan Torrent ft. Irene Rodríguez - Skyborn 01 Edgar Hopp - A True Hero Good luck to all of the above! D* 133; Franz Schubert / Mike Foyle vs Signalrunners - Love Theme Dusk (Mike's Broken Record Mix) (King Rollo) 115; Igor Stravinsky / Matt Bukovski & Geert Huinink - Fields of Forever (Dobbo) 115; George Friedric Handel / Keeno - Cosmic Creeper (dandy*) 113; Robert Schumann / Nils Frahm - Says (Bré) 106; Claudio Monteverdi / Sergey Nevone & Simon O'Shine - Apprehension (Aly & Fila Mix) (photografdemon) 82; Frederic Chopin / Ivan Torrent ft. Alna - Lonelier (uhsting) 13; Edward Elgar / Daler Mehndi - Bolo Ta Ra Ra (Haus) 05; Antonio Vivaldi / Jeff van Dyck - Medieval Total War Soundtrack: Arab Battle 1 (TheSnake) And there we have it, not even close in the end, winning in style, CONGRATULATIONS ROLLO, KING OF CLUB BIZARRE :yahoo:  :cheer: That concludes our performance tonight , but the closeness doesn't let up as we have a tie for 2nd! Final scoreboard coming momentarily
April 18, 20214 yr yaaaay a good song won! congrats rollo! I guess Bach was an apt composer choice (not because he’s one of my favorites) but also because after a rough two contests I finally made a comeback to the top 10! So I guess you can say that I’m... Bach...
April 18, 20214 yr Thank you Dobbo for the points! Very pleased with 7th, that's a second top 10 in a row so a strong comeback arc after a 20th place finish a few editions ago *.* Congrats to Rollo on the win! Gave your entry a few points so I'm satisfied with that outcome ^_^ long song theme? :D :kink: Muchas gracias Chez for fantastic hosting efforts
April 18, 20214 yr Thanks Chez for hosting and congratulations to Rollo for winning and your first gadget! Oops at me for sending this song :kink: Nevertheless, it is a fun song but the trance entries here are very good! Looking forward to future Club Bizarre contests! Edited April 18, 20214 yr by uhsting
April 18, 20214 yr Oh my! Could this be my first song conest win? Yes it could! Huge congratulations to you, and fitting of course that you win with the longest song in the contest! :D Great entry too, it got four points from me. Fields of Forever and Cosmic Creeper completing the final top three (wow at them being tied on points as well), those were my two favourites in the contest so I'm delighted to see them so high up as well, great entries there from Dobbo and dandy*
April 18, 20214 yr Brilliant entry from dandy*, drum n bass has got a little stale for me over the years but it still has its moments (particularly the more chill stuff like this)! Thanks for my last few points as well even if they were not quite enough for me to claim my elusive first ever medal position (then again I wouldn't have wanted to deny your own entry a top 3 position anyway x) - upgrading my best Club Bizarre position from 5th to 4th though so I shall not complain! I had a feeling this one could hit the niche appeal quite nicely and glad that has panned out *.* Congrats Rollo on a first song contest win, feels quite overdue and it's a good song to do it with! Developing quite a comfy lead there in the end as well. I will note though that I was snubbed by both of the guest voters - I was ROBBED by these impostors and frauds I tell thee!! (I say without looking back to check if they voted for any of the others in the top 3) Great to see Lucine Fyelon and Venetian Snares in the top 10 as well so that's all of my top 3 up there with me! <3 Thanks for the hosting Chez, has been fun to follow along and learn some classical fun facts along the way B-)
