May 4, 20214 yr 'my hair' has blossomed into a massive favourite for me  I really wanted it to be in the top 3 too! THOSE WHISTLE NOTES *.*
May 4, 20214 yr Author Ugh! I was hoping for my hair to make top 3. Me too! I would take this over '34+35' any day of the week. My top 5 would ideally be: 1. positions 2. pov 3. my hair 4. nasty 5. love language
May 4, 20214 yr 'my hair' was originally one of my faves from the album tracks but it's been overtaken by several others over time and is more midtable on my ranking now.
May 5, 20214 yr 3. 34+35 AVERAGE SCORE: 8.47 B6_iQvaIjXw LOVE language: LewisGT (11), JosephStyles, George.keh (10) NASTY: blacksquare (6), Bré (6.5) Of course random.org delegated me '34+35 Remix', 'nasty' and original '34+35'. Filth. However, the conception of '34+35' was surprisingly innocent. For about 5 minutes anyway. The stringtastic instrumental was born and Ariana thought it sounded quite Disney. Innocent, right? Well to challenge that they thought it'd be funny to contrast such a friendly instrumental with dirty lyrics. These words came to life after her backing dancer (and a best friend) Scott Nicholson came up with the "just give me them babies" line. '34+35' was an eye-catching title for sure. For those like Ari who claim "math class... never was good" - it adds up to 69. Well... the album is called 'positions' after all. It's a very explicit, attention grabbing, lust anthem with a title that screamed vitality. So it's no wonder that it was made a single. Ariana revealed that '34+35' was originally supposed to be the lead single but she mastered the art of persuasion enough for it to be changed to the title track. I think that was for the best. But this did well in its own right too! I covered the remix earlier but this was already a top 10 hit in its own right - its first 3 out of 4 top 10 stints were caused by album release week, the music video effect and post-Christmas ACR clear-out. Phew! The music video serves choreo and laboratory looks. Her love for pop culture jumps out too with references to Austin Powers and Metropolis. Lewis is the next to lose his favourite in the rate. Joseph's 11 went to the '34+35 Remix' earlier so it makes sense that the original still gets a score as high as 10. George awarded it one of those too. blacksquare and Bré are less keen with 6 and 6.5 scores respectively. 'positions' vs. 'pov' :o what has won? all that I'll reveal is that the averages are about to jump quite a lot, so they're firm favourites in here.
May 5, 20214 yr I like '34+35' but it's not even close to Top 3 for me. Also hoping for POV to win
May 5, 20214 yr 34+35 was the clear pick for my 11. Happy it made the top 3, I didn't really think it would be able to reach any higher. My Hair is bottom-half of the album for me. I really wasn't expecting it to be the highest album track at all :o
May 6, 20214 yr 2. POSITIONS AVERAGE SCORE: 9.1 tcYodQoapMg LOVE language: Juliannial, Bré + Nina West (11), …ready for it, Jade, blacksquare, LewisGT, Joseph Styles, HausofArgento + coi (10) NASTY: Tawdry Hepburn (2), LMLou (6) With a huge 9.1 average rating, the title track from ‘positions’ has to settle for a runners-up medal. Positions was our first taste from the album, being released one week early and debuting at #1 on both sides of the Atlantic as well as reaching the top spot in Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Lithuania, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore & Taiwan. Lyrically, the song explores the serious and fun sides of a relationship and the different roles Ari is willing to play to make it work (“Cookin' in the kitchen and I'm in the bedroom”, “I'm tryna meet your mama on a Sunday then make a lotta love on a Monday”). And the video plays on this theme, portraying a world where Ariana is the POTUS and switches between the different responsibilities someone in such a position has, such as heading cabinet meeting and attending press conferences. The video was released just weeks before last year’s presidential election and while we didn’t quite the dream scenario from the video with Ariana in the White House, at least the previous occupant has now left. Random aside: Has anyone else noticed that in the line “I'm just hopin' I don't repeat history”, Ariana pauses so repeat sounds like ‘re-Pete’. I’m here for any Pete Davidson shade! With Juliannial, Bré and Nina West all giving it top marks and only four people rating it anything less than 10, this could easily have ended up winning the whole thing. In the end, it was really only the back-to-back rates from Tawdry Hepburn and LMLou that ended up separating our top two in an incredibly tight, well fought battle.
May 6, 20214 yr Great average for 'positions'! I'm a big fan of both the song and the music video. I still can't get over how successful it was for her with all those weeks at #1 *.*
May 6, 20214 yr Author “Cookin' in the iamspamspamamiand I'm in the bedroom” Wait what?  Random aside: Has anyone else noticed that in the line “I'm just hopin' I don't repeat history”, Ariana pauses so repeat sounds like ‘re-Pete’. I’m here for any Pete Davidson shade! Yes I noticed straight away, Ariana has denied the allegations and said that we (her fans) are reaching. I say deny it all you want hun, I don't buy that they didn't have a giggle about it in the studio. :P A very strong top 2 here and It was hard to choose which to give my 11 to, so I'm glad either way. I feel like there were no major shocks during this rate, which is good. ^_^
May 6, 20214 yr Author I forgot that word was filtered on here  Edited now You better DM that word because I'm so curious!
May 7, 20214 yr It's just the word 'kitchen'. It's been filtered on BuzzJack for years because we used to get a ton of spam threads about kitchens, and apparently it now can't be removed from the filter.
May 7, 20214 yr Author ^ Okay well that's slightly hilarious. 1. POV AVERAGE SCORE: 9.37 Cvofj7K_5Iw LOVE language: MrAndrewMan (11), …ready for it, George.keh, blacksquare, Julliannnial, NickF1, Joseph Styles, HausofArgento + coi (10) NASTY: LewisGT (7), Tawdry Hepburn, Bré, Nina West (8) Sorry this is so late I almost forgot. Well incase you hadn't worked it out yet ... Smashing it out of the park with a fantastic score of 9.37 is this gorgeous R&B ballad. It was a big favourite of many from the album straight out of the gate. Similarly 'Billboard' also rated it the best song from the album upon release. Our prayers were answered when 'pov' got sent to radios back in March, also we recently got a lyric video directed by 'Director X', however I'm really looking forward to an official music video and I'd love to see the song become a huge smash. It's already picking up on Radio Airplay like crazy which is a good sign. Points wise, it only received one 11 score from MrAndrewMan, however a very impressive eight 10s were also given. On the lower end of the spectrum fellow mod LewisGT was the lowest scorer a non-offensive 7, after that it was only 8 and upwards. Correct winner?
May 7, 20214 yr Nothing below a 7 *.* pleased with that winner and also looking forward to a music video
May 7, 20214 yr 'pov' is fast becoming one of my favourite Ariana songs - it's easily my highlight from Positions
May 7, 20214 yr Very happy with pov winning here! I gave 10 to both that and positions so it's a great top two and out of those I do prefer pov, a beautiful track! Glad the original 34+35 beat the remix version too. Enjoyed following this!
May 8, 20214 yr Author Well again, thank you all so much for taking part! We look forward to more forum activities with you all!
