Love this song - on reflection I wish it had charted higher than H&Claire’s debut

Good to see someone like you getting rated well and again highlighting you are a fan of the ballads, stacked against Steps material this would not be nearly as high for me but based on solo output its well deserved.

"The Land of Make Believe" became only one song in the history of my retrospective chart, which was # 1 in three different versions, when Blogos Mergaites got # 1 with "Norim Buti Vaikais" (cover on Lithuanian language). The combined result is 21 weeks at # 1 (!!!) - nine for Bucks Fizz, seven for allSTARS* and five for Blogos Mergaites. Original was my "Song of the Year" from 1981 year, allSTARS* cover version is my favourite single from 2002.

I adore all three versions and gave very rare, but deserved 10 / 10 score.

Oh no Dreamer, your list started of so strongly for me and then fell into a pit  Say You'll Be Mine is okay, I guess but I wouldn't even have that top 10  their cover of Better The Devil You Know was really strong though!

I do like its the way you make me feel but prefer say you'll be mine and a good few others. As I previously said your steps taste is very different to mine.

A great top choice, It's the Way You Make Me Feel is also my favourite single of theirs from the 1997-2001 period of Steps.

Two of your highest placed Steps songs Words Are Not Enough/I Know Him So Well... hmm, one of my least favourite singles. A bit of a blah moment for them to bow out on. Baby Don't Dance or Only in My Dreams would have been better choices.

I'm pretty certain that I haven't heard Someone Like You since 2002. I can't remember how it goes at all, but my memory of it is that I found it boring. Maybe I'll revisit it; 33 year old me might have an appreciation for it that 14 year old me really did not.

Similarly I've probably not heard H & Claire's version of Beauty and the Beast since 2002, and I didn't buy the single, so that probably says a lot about how I felt about it at the time. Celine >>>

Whilst most of this top 10 wouldn’t be in line with mine I appreciate it.

It’s great to see such differing tastes in top 10’s.
