This upcoming episode is going to be a hard watch if the spoilers are true and River and Choriza both leave.

 

Its going to feel like the final in this series coffin, with the heart basically ripped out of the show and the two favourites out.

 

There's gonna be a lot of uproar I think! Obviously we haven't seen the circumstances yet but to me this series feels like it is trying to pull out every possible shock or twist Drag Race can have. We had the top 2 lipsync for the win, the double shantay, no winner for the ad challenge, and now a double sashay, plus we have another non-elimination episode next week with a top 2 win.

 

For some reason I forsee either:

 

- One of them is outright terrible and deserves bottom 2 based on this challenge and the other isn't great but is thrown in the bottom 2 over somebody else (say Krystal) who is also bad but saved for whatever reason, either just pure favouritism or a slightly better runway or something

 

or

 

- One/both of them have characters Ru doesn't know or "get" and he just pulls some bullshit because every queen has to know Golden Girls and god forbid they do something they grew up with

 

Even if it is kinda justified (which I would say will only be if the lipsync on both parts is utterly awful), for me this will be the last straw and the only times I've not bothered with Drag Race is the Holland finale after Keta's elimination bullshit and the AS5 finale because Shea winning leaked and I hated that season. Choriza and River are the only two left I am actually rooting for, who are likeable and entertaining, and I actually want to watch and see more of, and it rips the heart and character out of the season so we're left with a bunch of predictable queens who pretty much leave me cold at this point.

I don’t mind Scarlett and Ella… but one has dived the last 2 weeks and the other is hardly that interesting

 

I don’t think this series is going to be remembered as a classic… I don’t think Ru gets UK Drag either

I've said this before but it rings more true each time, Ella is just... robotic? Like she has done well at pretty much everything, every week she is competent in both the challenges and the runway, but there is just nothing there. When Bimini for example got her 4 wins later in Season 2, she genuinely slayed each episode and it was a real journey for her, you rooted for her more and more each episode. Ella I feel has always done well, even last week when they were all called out as needing to step it up, I feel like she did solidly enough, but there just isn't that spark there where I'm rooting for her or I'm excited to see what she will do. Everything is just "competent", which isn't exciting at all and you know what you will get from her every single time, and to be honest that's the case with Krystal, Kitty, Vanity and Scarlett as well. I don't think a single one of those all season has done anything to surprise me or excite me...

i came in here last week when i was mad at the episode and GAWD am i thankful for the chance to emotionally prepare myself for tonight.

 

really hoping the spoiler is wrong- it spells total disaster for the season. the fact that lulu is there just makes it so much worse for them if it does happen

I'm almost certain they'll do a fake-out with the non elim next week and it will happen to be when Krystal would be in the bottom and yet again she'll be saved :lol:

Tea says that Kitty gets 3 wins and Ella gets 4, for this to happen there would need to be a double win between them at some point but I think it could be the case that the top 2 of the Fugly ball is mixed up with each getting a win so they will both have 3.

 

So I'm guessing the tea about a top 2 lip sync may be this coming episode rather than last weeks?

Yep, looks like it will be, I've also seen tea that they "could" both win the lipsync which would be consistent with tea that Kitty gets 2 wins and Ella gets 4, but I feel Ella's 4 could be 3 "actual" wins and then the top 2 lipsync placement and there may be confusion there. But hey, the double win for a top 2 lipsync for the win would be just another random twist for them to use this season :lol:

Krystal seems to have kind of got a winner's edit without the wins (as in not since her first two), like they're trying to show her as having this journey, they keep giving her "moments" like Ru saying how she's already this good at 19, that she's a superstar etc., but it's odd that they haven't given her wins later in the series. From what I saw of the ball, she easily could have won that. Maybe they're going for a strong All Stars potential kind of edit. Because a fashion queen hasn't won a UK series yet, I feel like she still could win and I kind of expected her to be the "chosen" winner. People are counting her out for track record but that didn't stop Vanessa winning Drag Race Holland (she was HIGH-SAFE-SAFE-LOW-WIN-LOW-LOW, although granted she did the best in the finale).

Yea there's something very Violet Chachski about the edit Krystal is getting except I don't think the talent is there as much as Ru is telling us it is :lol: It's obvious that's who he wants to win but I think most people watching would prefer either Kitty or Ella. I'm rooting for Ella at this point but that's mostly because the couple I did like aren't there any more. I feel like the final will at least be quite rounded in that you've got the more polished underestimated queen there in Ella, Comedy with Kitty and Fashion with Krystal.

I'm 100% expecting Krystal to win and Ru is obsessed with her and overlooks everything she can't do, or is bad at. Basically these days it feels Ru is obsessed with 1 Queen from the first week and no matter what they do/ others do they will win.

 

Its just a shame that despite the edit pushing Krystal so much to be rootable and likeable that it continues to just fail. I get the Violet comparisons... however she was on another level to Krystal and actually seemed to grow throughout the competition. Krystal is just a look... and not a very original look either.

 

Ella should win really - she seems to most well rounded and has done well at things she wasn't expected to do well in - Snatch Game and other comedy challenges.

I’m absolutely hoping Krystal wins as her drag is in my opinion, head and shoulders above the other three. She’s had a weird trajectory though and there’s definitely a challenge or two that she didn’t get credit she deserved.

Hmmm... I'll have to agree to disagree with you :D

 

I don't really see Krystal as having that much of an engaging (or likeable) personality... in fact she is just a walking look. I'd also say both Ella and Kitty have shown way more versatility than Krystal over the course of the series too and Krystal has had so much stuff overlooked. I think Krystal needed an extra couple of years to really find herself and have some experience; she seems to go into everything say I can't do x and y and is basically reliant on everyone else helping her.

 

But hey, I guess if we all thought the same it would be a dull world :D

Krystal may have the better runways (although they are pretty samey at times) but that's about the only thing you can say she's ahead with. She bombed snatch game pretty much, she's not indicated she can bring humour in any other ways, acting, performance in general there's none of those categories where I'm like oh yea Krystal will be amazing there. The roast is this week and I feel like she is just going to be very scripted and have a lot of flat jokes that just won't land. Maybe she'll prove me wrong though.

 

I feel like focusing on looks is the American take on drag whereas British drag is more about the entertainment etc. I guess it makes it difficult when it's being run and judged by Americans but still. Kitty and Ella have at least showed they are well rounded, their runways aren't terrible, they've both got personality and humour and can put on a good performance. Ella is my preference but I wouldn't be mad if Kitty won because I can definitely understand why she would. I'd even prefer a Vanity Milan win over Krystal tbh

Can't believe Ella got 4 wins and now has a better track record than Bimini!

 

Having said that these last few episodes have felt more like Drag Race UK than the ones at the start/middle of the season.

 

Definitely did get chills at how Ru was living for Krystal this episode despite the fact she was a bit shit.
