I adoreeeee Chain Reaction! The key changes at the end though... life giving!!

 

Steps felt particularly huge when they released this. #2 only behind Can't Get You Out of My Head, leading into Gold going to #1 with big first week sales.

 

One of their most memorable videos too imo!

Such a strange single choice imo. Especially after Chain Reaction ooft.

This is definitely a bit of a misfire in their singles run for me, a bit of a blah way to end their first run. It's nice enough, don't get me wrong! But there were superior songs to choose from Gold.

'Words Are Not Enough' - very MEH & certainly their worst during their 97-01 heyday. Shame they split before 'Baby Don't Dance', I really loved that at the time, imagine what the music video could have been.

This cover is so bad as well. Absolutely no need.

There was supposedly a clause in Steps' contract that their single releases had to include Pete Waterman produced songs... that's why they threw I Know Him So Well onto Words Are Not Enough, even though it was recorded in 1999!
