I am a little bit surprised that Kylie (or her team) is more proactive in mentioning/promoting Starstruck than Dancefloor Darling <_<

^^ This but I get the feeling Universal are the ones pushing for this, Olly has had mass exposure (Its A Sin, The Brits, Prime TV/Radio promo) and he is obviously a priority artist for them and the results haven’t been there yet for this release or the Elton duet.

I wonder can it go higher especially the week the cd ships, maybe another remix will be added.

I think the CD will give it a boost - maybe not a new peak but should keep it stable thanks to all the Kylie fans snapping them up, I’ve bought copies for international fans/friends that are collectors and know lots of other people that have done the same on SayHey for international fans, wise move to make it UK only to get all the sales here.

UK only was a good move to get the sales counted in one market only.

Are Years and Years successful in other markets anymore?

Their success has waned a bit like in the UK, their songs chart a but lower in Ireland than in the UK. I agree doing a UK cd release only and im sure most of the people who bough the cd are Kylie fans as i dont think years and years have a huge physical fanbase, it does show how the kylie fans love a physical and even on a one off to test, id love for a kylie single to get a 2cd release and vinyl and have say 10,000 of each available, id love to see how quickly they would sell.

Starstruck should start next week off with a high chart placement.

I am interested to see if they will try anything next week to push it further.

FYI Years & Years is just a solo project of Olly Alexander now, so the act is not really a "they" anymore.

Years for Years singing Starstruck on BAFTA award ceremony on Sunday night. Perfect as they will get big promo for it and with the CD single our on Friday the same chart week it could even peak higher

I'm surprised that you all care, considering that it has nothing to do with Kylie's chart history :heehee:

It's all good publicity for Kylie. It's moved her streaming Spotify figures over 7,000,000 now and she is featured on the CD.

I couldn’t care less tbh - I just want the CD for my collection

Fair play to Universal - showing how to manipulate an underperforming single in the streaming era tho

Totally agree and a great move.

They’ve done a brilliant job with a mediocre single tbh - excellent promo, Kylie feature, remixes, and cheap physical and slapped Kylie on the back as an afterthought as they knew that would get the Kylie fans buying. Will be interesting to see how many copies they have shifted

Hopefully we get sales info on it plus hopefully a sales number 1.

I find this remix odd. I really like the original but I find Kylie’s vocals out of place on this. I think it could just be because I’m so used to the original, I do love Kylie though.

I just tend to find a lot of these post-release remixes pointless

All that, and it would be ironic if the second single is a smash with far less promo

I do very much feel like Y&Y still have the potential to get another smash hit with the right song, although hopefully that's next!

I do to but i have to say i loved the recent duet with Elton John, they done a really good cover of its a sin, i adore the original but this was a good cover version.

Stars Truck has reached a new peak on Spotify today, so maybe with those CD singles next week it could be looking good for it to peak even higher!

If it can push for top 20 or thereabouts I think that would be a pretty decent result, all things considered.
