Loving reading popjustice, strange bunch! Hate any white person who sings a guitar or who is straight.

I think they just expect more from our popstars than generic mediocrity. As we all should.

PopJustice is more in line with Gay Twitter which holds popstars to high standards. I would say BuzzJacks general taste is more Fiat 500 Twitter / standard general public really.

Pop fans always want the artists have personality, do their best or surprise them. Releasing safe mediocrity has never resonated well among them.

How depressing!

I low-key wouldn't be surprised if this didn't quite manage the 9/10 weeks at number 1... not that it isn't any worse than his previous songs, but I can just see this fading on people pretty quickly... I'm gonna do a bold prediction and say 5 (6 max) weeks at #1. Although it really depends on how much 'I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE' can keep growing (I doubt it and that it will peak at 2 for like 2/3 weeks behind Ed)

If it manages to make it to #1 for as long as people think/expect then so be it. But idk... I just think this will fall away quicker than his past hits have done.

'LUMBERJACK' by Tyler did way better on Spotify than it did on Apple (didn't even go top 100 there as a single iirc), so his album doing this well there - outpacing Doja's album in general - may bode well for his Spotify presence tomorrow! 'WUSYANAME' maybe coming to finally give YoungBoy a UK top 40 hit after his song with Juice WRLD just missed out? (I would literally never have predicted YoungBoy's UK top 40 breakthrough coming via a Tyler feature, but stranger things have happened I suppose)

'Ain't Shit' is charting really well for its position on the tracklist of the Doja album, it seems to be a song that's had a snippet floating around for a long time before the album dropped so that makes sense I guess.

Both Tyler and Doja already having their entire albums in the top 200 on Apple anyway, pretty good going for both of them (probably helps a little that they both dropped at midnight UK time rather than 5am).

Hoping You Right catches on, i've already had a fair few repeat listens and it's a bop imo.

As much as I would love I Wanna Be Your Slave to do as well as possible, part of me hopes it doesn't peak at #2 behind Sheeran because i'd hate to see it be robbed at the final hurdle like that.

on Amazon, Måneskin #4 (Slave) and #6 (Beggin) now

Jonasu - Black Magic is #50 on Amazon, nice to see!

EDIT: Ed flopping at #25 on Amazon :D

He's at #3 now. There's usually a big spike for new releases around 24 hours after their release so there's a good chance he'll hit #1 by around 5am if not before then (though as ever we don't actually know how far ahead Olivia is on Apple). I know you're eager to write it off as a COMPLETE FLOP but at least wait until then xx

'WUSYANAME' has now taken over as the highest Tyler track on Apple, up to #34. 'You Right' is up to #40 for Doja.

as much as i truly expect ed to debut #1 in the uk, opening up with 700,000 is still going to be difficult, even if he opened with 800,000, I'm sure Olivia would overtake the following day or day after, I think he needs to open with 860,000 imo.

I can see him doing around that number, maybe a little higher. Even if he can’t stay in line with Olivia all week on streams he’ll probably do a good 12-15k downloads at least, and another few thousand with the CD single.

I still find it really bizarre to see Måneskin doing so well straight out of nowhere when there are so many other rock bands that are just as good (which isn't a dig at Måneskin). Who knew Eurovision exposure would serve them so well?

They strike me as the first truly big rock act to crossover on TikTok to Gen Z. Eurovision was a brilliant platform to give them that initial exposure but their charisma, star quality, look, styling, quality of their music, and the fact that they have a back catalogue of originals and covers ready to mine has led to them capturing lightning in a bottle. They just feel like genuine rock stars, in a way we haven’t seen for years, and the Eurovision performance enabled the world to see that - it was mass television exposure that most other great modern rock bands just haven’t had. They’ve captured the zeitgeist completely and filled a gap in the market that was there to be filled.

Weird how in the US he's only 150 there. He's gonna be number 1 in the UK 700%.
It'll presumably be far higher on Spotify in the US, Apple Music is a pretty useless indicator for pop songs there as its userbase is completely dominated by hip-hop fans (see: Tyler having 10 songs in the top 20).

really surprised at Bad Habits only being #2 on Apple!

think he'll be #1 anyway as he's doing very well on iTunes, yesterday he did ike 10 times better than #2 so even if sales are low that has to mean at least 5K for 1 day...

but very curious to see how he does on Spotify

on Amazon, he's at #17 but all songs start slow on Amazon...
