Are the Czechs really that bad now? I see 3 banana skins here for England really but then again every fixture is with the weight of expectation that they didn't have at the 2018 WC. Scotland sneaking through as a 3rd-place qualifier would be nice for them.

I think England will win the group and Croatia will finish second

I’m really hoping that Scotland can finish 3rd and hopefully sneak through as one of the best 3rd place teams. Our first game against the Czechs is probably our most important one as we really need to beat them.

It's a tough group, although we have home advantage. I think Scotland are being really underestimated, a win against Czech Republic and it's massive for them. That game against Scotland at Wembley is going to be massive. Even though we have a much better squad, it's a Derby game. I always hate playing other Home Nations and ROI.

Yeh the Czechs are a decent side similar to Scotland now. Scotland are decent as Steve Clarke is a decent manager, can see him being Celtic boss soon!

Didn’t the Czechs beat England in the last qualifiers?

I feel like we're in for a surprise here and the surprise is the Czechs. I actually think any team that comes from this group could do damage in the knockouts rounds and Scotland is one of the strongest potential 4th-place finishers in the tournament. Poor them being put into this stacked group! England won't have an easy time with any of these squads, a stark contrast to them always seemingly getting the easiest qualifying groups lol. A rivalry match and those are always nervy, a World Cup semifinal re-match, and a team that is on the rise and beat them in qualifying recently? Yeah, this group won't be as elementary as some experts might lead you to believe.

Czech Republic

England

Croatia

Scotland

This thread isn't getting any love because of the individual matches so here's some small hype towards the crunch Croatia vs Czech Republic match.
Can't see England not winning tonight. They'll be too strong for the Scots.
From watching that match I can conclude one of two things - that the Czechs are better than I can ever remember them being, or that Croatia really aren't the same team that reached the World Cup Final...

All of Croatia's best players are old now. Czech Republic are better than they have been recently, they have a few handy players but nowhere near the same level as some of their golden generations of the 90s and 00s!

People forget that Croatia reaching the WC final in 2018 was a massive shock in itself. At the start of the tourno they weren't in the conversation at all. Ppl think they were a really strong team because they beat a really average England team but they really overachieved.
They are a decent side though one of them teams in the end of League A or the top of League B in the Nations Leaghe draws, I mean Luka Modric is one of the best midfielders in the world over the past 10 years for one.
