06th. Shallow = 11 votes




Welcome Buzzjack to Round 22 of Lady Gaga's least fave singles poll & finishing in 6th place (2 places higher than its previous placement) Shallow[ which gained 11 votes in the last round. So glad that yet again this has done so well as at the time this was Gaga's best tune in several years & first chart topper in over 8 years. This really revitalized her career, as well as becoming a successful foray into acting. A beautiful number alongside Bradley Cooper's gruff vocals, but its Gaga who takes centre stage here with the tune’s emotionally moving placement in the film itself will always hold a dear place in our hearts. Okay this may be a bit simple lyrically, but its still a brilliant addition to her discography.


33 Votes were cast in the last round & yet again 'Alejandro' escapes elimination by scoring the 2nd highest amount of votes with 9. 'Rain On Me' picks up more votes with 7, then finally both 'Poker Face' & 'The Edge of Glory' scores 3 votes each. Then yet again 'Bad Romance' was the only single not to score any votes & funnily enough this hasn't scored any votes since round 1.

Alejandro gets my vote because Rain On Me is still so fresh and fills me with hype whenever I hear it :wub:

Imagine thinking that ROM is better than Alejandro... Alejandro just wasn't #1 everywhere because it was TFM's 3rd single. The song is hot and has a strong pop chorus.

The song was Top 5 in every major market on the planet except the UK (:rolleyes:), including Top 3 in Germany, Australia and France. If it was TFM's second single instead of Telephone it would have been #1 in every corner of the planet. It's just catchy and you couldn't escape that song on the radio in the summer of 2010.

I am very aware of Alejandro's success and legacy and it is a huge massive favourite of mine that I have so much love for. Voting for it in the top 5 doesn't mean the love isn't there! It just so happens that right now, Rain On Me is my preference very very marginally because of recency bias.
