June 9, 20214 yr Author Mutya “I kinda got outta it with great timing to be honest” Keisha *side eye death glare* I'm actually laughing how Mutya got the question who her best friend is and then continues to ignore it to go on a rant about something else. Queen :cheeseblock:
June 9, 20214 yr Author Keisha tells Mutya that her least favourite thing about her is her lack of focus. Mutya starts to rant about something else. :cheeseblock: :cheeseblock: :cheeseblock:
June 10, 20214 yr I knew about Red Dress, but quite suprised to hear Keisha mentioning In The Middle! That's always I song I really associate with her as well, probabaly because of her fantastic look in the video.
June 10, 20214 yr I don’t know why but I always though they or some of the 2.0 members were t fans on In The Middle.
June 10, 20214 yr Keisha on In The Middle in 2008: I'm not really into this one as it's a bit upbeat. I actually wrote 90% of the song so I don't really know what I'm bloody on about! I think it's because as I've got older I don't really relate to the lyrics. It was more of a fun song but I just don't really feel that attached to it any more. I remember another interview (2004?) where Mutya said she preferred the live band version, and then Heidi showed some love for it during the Overloaded era. But I don't think any of them are overly keen. Poor In The Middle...

Poor In The Middle... I think in general they weren't fans of the way Xenomania worked, especially with the whole cutting up bits and bobs of songs and then leaving a track with 500 co-writers. I think Keisha's also indicated that they had a hand in writing some tracks (like Something New) that they didn't recieve the proper credit for. It seems like that majorly soured their opinion on those tracks bar maybe Round Round, since that one was so successful. Then again, I don't think they ended up even performing that one as MKS... June 14, 20214 yr Author 100%! I always put it down to the way Brian operates than anything else. The Something New business was shady. Really quite disappointing, actually... I don't think it's necessarily shady, I think it's just hard in those situations to sort out who wrote what and how much credit they should have when you've cut up bits and bobs of five different tracks (+I think a lot depends on their publishing deal etc). That's probably why K + M seems to be completely put off by it; Siobhan was actually the one who was contacted by Brian and then she brought in Keisha and Mutya again. I don't think any of the demo leaks ended up being by Xenomania either? Edited June 14, 20214 yr by tommie
June 14, 20214 yr XmtEOMHdlrY At around seven minutes in. What did Red Dress do to hurt these women this much? 😂😂😂 This was an interesting watch but I just find these two so bitchy, the way they word things is immature. Red Dress is one of Sugababes' best singles - they should be on board with it.
June 14, 20214 yr Bitchy???? What???? I’m not sure what video you watched coz it doesn’t appear that we saw the same one.

June 15, 20214 yr Author Siobhan was so lucky that she insisted on Keisha and Mutya joining her in the studio, otherwise she would've been talent-mined by Brian Higgins.
June 19, 20214 yr She probably was. There will be Xenomania tracks influenced by MKS genius for the next decade, all uncredited. They produce some great things, but their lack of crediting makes me understand why it’s left a sour taste for M&K
June 20, 20214 yr I still to this day adore 'Red Dress', but strictly the Mutya version. Amelle's "cawwwler than the red dress" makes my toes curl. 😬

June 20, 20214 yr I agree-ish. Mutya sounds bored, which she is because she never wanted to record it in the first place. But her version is iconic Amelle did bring something to it, but they beefed production up and Keisha also re-recorded vocals. That’s why the Amelle version is a bit punchier
