If Newcastle lose every game from now until the end of the season then they will still stay up. All the teams below them cant string two wins together and are worse than them

Seems like it's 2 from Watford, Burnley and Everton to join Norwich. The game midweek goes along way, if Everton win that I think it will just about do it. Thought Watford were well improved at the weekend - but don't think there are enough games for them, only 8 to go, so you'd say they'd need at least 4 wins and pick up the od draw here or there.

The re-arranged North London Derby is going to be massive for 4th place. Mad really, as poor as Ole was, think they would be 4th with him (although should be challenging for the league) against these two sides. Losing Partey and Tierney looks to be massive for Arsenal!

Suddenly things look a lot different after everyone was proclaiming Arsenal had 4th in the bag a few weeks back! Everything still to play for as all the teams chasing 4th (and even Chelsea) are ridiculously inconsistent. The only team you can categorically rule out for 4th are Wolves imo.

They're just typical CL chasing sides really, none of them are that good which is why they're unlikely to be winning more than an average of 3 out of 5 games over a sustained period. The last 7 years 4th placed team has got between 66 & 76 points with it being rarer to get above 70. Around 70 is what Spurs and Arsenal are on track for so completely usual, they'll all continue to drop points.

Matt Le Tissier says he has "stepped aside" from his role as ambassador at former club Southampton.

The former midfielder said he took the step to "separate the work I believe in from my relationship with the club."

His comments on Ukraine and Covid have been embarrassing. It's rather sad to see such a good player spouting so much nonsense.

Ten Haag then Utd fans - thoughts?

Has it been confirmed? I would have preferred Poch of the 2 but ultimately it won't really matter. Whoever gets the job will leave with their career in tatters after 18 months...

I can’t really think about anything else but the game on Sunday. My heart says Liverpool but my head says City will prevail as we are poor at the back and are misfiring upfront in recent games. Think City are a slightly better side this year overall and probably deserve the league but I guess it’s the hope that kills.

Wish we could have had this team and manager when Pep and City weren’t about because they could have won at least one more league title and we all know we will be back in 7th when Jurgen moves on!

Really hard to tell how the game will play out, I think both managers would settle for the draw right now. Depends if City have one eye on the Athletico tie (I doubt it). Either way, under Klopp as a team we are less emotional whereas you can tell the gap has got to Pep and his players with what they are saying in the media. City are definite favourites for this though.

Southampton really do have highs and lows like don’t they and I thought this season they were finding that equilibrium for a change!
You have to feel for them - it must have taken some resolve to stop any more going in after the first 60 minutes! Leeds taking the win comfortably against Watford today, hopefully that will give them a bit of breathing space!

Brentford are winning again, they are the only team really seious about surviving relegation.

For the "fiercest rivalry in PL history" they all look quite chummy with each other at the end...

That's just Sky talk isn't it. Clear that both Klopp and Guardiola have a lot of respect for each other and a lot of the players all play on the same national teams.

Thought City were the better team, so happy with a point. Good thing about that was I thought that was City at their absolute best, whereas that wasn't Liverpool at their best. Hard to be too critical as it's a tough game and I thought we had the better chances too (although City had more). Always need a bit of luck and City got all the deflections & bounces etc. which is just one of those things. City have the easier run-in on paper, so was always going to be close no matter what.

I think it’s more that the game has just gone soft. I don’t remember United, Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool being so friendly back in the ‘90s/‘00s. The rivalry between the managers/players felt really real and serious back then. Now they’re all best mates and cover their mouths when they talk to each other after the game has finished.

Game pretty much went how I thought it would above with our high line, but happy with a draw as city we’re all over us in the first half. We showed guys to comeback after that in the second half.

Another pulsating game between the two best teams in the country.

City will likely go on and win the league now, can see it by 6 points as we will drop points somewhere due to our fixtures.

I’m putting it out there, but I think Liverpool will do the Quadruple! :o
As much as I am an optimistic & biased Liverpool fan, I am not sure we have a chance of the quadruple. It's a massive feat - let's see where we are after this week. Not sure the game against City in the FA Cup will be quite as intense & can see us both playing "weakened" line-ups.
