Olivia has a 150,000 lead on Spotify and possibly a bigger lead tomorrow with the no NMF effect. Will Olivia stop Ed getting #1?

 

Personally I love bad habits so even if it got to #1 I’m guessing Good 4 U would return there next week!

'Bad Habits' is going to be v interesting to follow this week... I wonder if his streams will increase throughout the week, or whether Olivia will hold him off (comfortably) all week?

 

Anyway, I can't see past Ed getting it this week. He'll have fresh video views/streams, physical CD, good playlisting on playlists that aren't NMF... so we'll see. Based on first day, Idk what to expect for him in the future, but I had suspected that it wouldn't quite be the 9/10 week-er people were predicting (after I'd heard it ofc). I was thinking 5 weeks max. But unless he has something coming up to pull that out the bag... I think he's gonna have to settle for a 1-1-3-2-2-4 kinda run instead of 1-1-1-1-1-1...

could be close, he should drop big on Spotify tomorrow without the NMF effect and without curiosity streams

 

if he does it, it will be thanks to his downloads. I reckon he did 5K yesterday so that will eat any difference Olivia has

question is if he can maintain those sales...

I'm kinda feeling that Olivia is going to hold on now tbh, it is a rather large gap between them on Spotify that's probably only going to grow, Ed's first week downloads might keep it close but I'd give her the edge right now unless Ed gains more traction during the week somehow.

Hopefully the Ed Sheeran song if its only going to stay there for a week or two and then ideally been taken over by another new track, I was just dreading it lingering there for 9 weeks. With Afterglow and now this which has been heavily promoted and is one of his better singles on first listen failing to dominate in the way he's used to I think it's fair to say his imperial phase is over, not that its a 'flop' by usual standards but definitely a come down on what he's used to.

It will be interesting to see the gap in today’s mids
