March 16, 20223 yr Atleti absolutely bossed us. Despite the fallout there's really no shame in losing to them, much better team and they're the champions of Spain for a reason! It hurts but we just have to accept we're simply not a top team right now, we're not far from West Ham and Wolves level with the squad to echo that. Its an expensive squad yes but it's still lacking in quality all over the pitch. I'll still hold out hope of sneaking 4th in the league because Arsenal can definitely bottle it but another season not qualifying for the CL really sucks.
March 16, 20223 yr What I really hate about Rangnick though is his constant switching off the full backs. We did really well last season playing Shaw and AWB but despite that he's desperate to play Telles and Dalot who are both shite.
March 16, 20223 yr Dalot is a better attacker than AWB I'll give him that but that's not what we need right now given how shite we are at keeping the ball out the net. Shaw is class though and leagues above Telles imo, let's not forget he was one of the best left backs of the prem last season and had an excellent Euros too.
March 18, 20223 yr Following the draw I reckon the Semis will be City vs Madrid and Liverpool vs Bayern. The best 4 teams in Europe right now so they'll be some matches!
March 18, 20223 yr I was hoping Man City and Liverpool wouldn't get separated as a potential final between those 2 teams would be the stuff of nightmares! Hopefully something will happen along the way to prevent that coming to pass.
March 18, 20223 yr I'd hate a final against City personally, I think we would have a much better chance of beating them over 2 legs, but a one off final in a neutral ground, it's always pot luck when it's two good teams. Either way, loads of games to be played before that. Very happy with the QF draw for Liverpool after some tough draws before hand, probably the best draw on paper we could have got.
April 6, 20223 yr Atletico didn't have a single shot, apparently the first time it's ever happened to them since Simeone's been there.
April 16, 20223 yr Liverpool are definitely the favourites now but I think Madrid would be a harder match for a final than Chokechester City.
April 26, 20223 yr It's a shame away goals have been scrapped this season otherwise Real Madrid would have one foot in the final now. Still for them to reduce a two goal lead multiple times and with a home leg to come would suggest maybe Real Madrid will knock City out. It was a very entertaining game though and the 2nd leg will be just as entertaining, can't believe Benzema had the guts to take his penalty the way he did.

Think City will have enough to get the draw/win at Madrid. What is great though is City should have won that game by at least 2 goals, and it probably felt more like a defeat to City. Goof thing for Liverpool that the tie is still in the balance. Madrid were hopeless most of the game and still managed to score 3 goals.
May 3, 20223 yr It feels very much like Liverpool will win the Champions League this season and I fully expect them to now, I didn't see tonight's match but it seems it's all falling into place for them in this competition. I just hope Real Madrid knock Man City out tomorrow for the good of football.
May 3, 20223 yr Author I would rather a final vs Real as it’s much tougher to take a defeat vs City but I think in a one off game either team can win and it won’t be easy no matter who it’s against. If it’s City I think they would be favourites especially if they are league champions by then! Who would you rather win a City Liverpool final Houdini 😬

Who would you rather win a City Liverpool final Houdini 😬 If City get to the final then from my Man Utd fan perspective it wouldn't matter who won as it would be a lose-lose situation. Only thing I can say is that at least Liverpool have won the Champions League before so it wouldn't be a new experience to witness if they won. Kevin De Bruyne said that people will view Man City differently if they win the Champions League but I don't think that would be the case, if anything people will respect them less as the oil money would have finally propelled them to the European Cup and those of us who can remember Man City before the oil money will know that they would be nowhere near this level without it.
