May 3, 20223 yr They will win it eventually unfort just like Chelsea did. It’s just modern football and success in the mid 20th century was similarly based on owners only on a MUCH MUCH smaller scale. You'd think so, but the longer they don't win it the funnier it becomes. It legitimises the project. I'd rather play City personally, although would fully expect Liverpool to make the final a home game if we did play City. We were utterly garbage in the 1st half. As bad a performance I have seen under Klopp post 2018, second best everywhere. Not sure exactly what he did tactically, but wow. The difference in performance was massive. Even though at half-time the likes of G.Neville, Twitter and Whatsapp went off on one, was always confident we'd find another gear and Villareal wouldn't be able to keep up that intensity and effort. Does go to show the difference having the 2nd leg at home though.
May 4, 20223 yr As a United fan I'd much rather Liverpool won the CL as I don't want City to ever win it and City win the PL to keep Pool away from 20 league titles. If its the other way round then drop me out.
May 4, 20223 yr Rodrygo is the first player to score twice in the 90th minute of a UEFA Champions League knockout match. Bonkers.
May 4, 20223 yr I can't believe what I've just seen! Man City are truly cursed in the Champions League. At least we've been spared what would have been an absolute nightmare of a final.
May 4, 20223 yr I'd much rather play Madrid in the final than City. A CL final game against City would have been absolutely massive if we had lost against them, I could take it against Madrid, but against City it would be unbearable on many levels. Think Liverpool should be favourites for the game, key will be scoring the first goal as if Madrid score first they will just kill the game.
May 4, 20223 yr I just realised that no penalty shoot outs took place in the knockout stage this season. I don't know if that's a first or not but it shows how valuable extra time is now that away goals don't count anymore. Real Madrid would have gone straight through at the end of regular time if they still counted.
May 5, 20223 yr Never change City, never change Pep  delighted I don't have to support Liverpool in the final as would have been the case had City hung on. Madrid will have to beat the best 3 teams in England in a row to win the tourno so fair play to them if they actually pull it off, you can always rely on a comeback from nowhere in the CL!
May 28, 20223 yr The kick-off to the game has just been delayed by 15 minutes because of problems getting the fans into the stadium.
May 28, 20223 yr Right result in the end. Real Madrid deserved to win the Champions League for the tough journey towards the final that they made, especially the way that they came back against Man City in the semi final. For all the talk about winning the quadruple it's a bit crazy to think that if Chelsea were better at taking penalties Liverpool would have ended up with nothing this season.
May 28, 20223 yr Author Yeh Liverpool unlucky, far better side but this Madrid team are hard to beat rather than play lovely football and when you don’t take your chances that can happen in a champions league final. Btw Houdini not one utterance about the quadruple came from these boards so I don’t know why you keep bringing it up. Fact is we won 2 trophies this season, beat in the champions league final and beat in the final day of the league campaign, a superb effort.

No it wasn't mentioned on Buzzjack but it's been mentioned practically everywhere else for months. This is not me laughing at Liverpool for not winning all 4 trophies, to win 2 trophies is still a really good achievement and much better than almost every other team. It's just a bit crazy to think that as close as Liverpool came to doing it if Chelsea were more clinical from the penalty spot you would have ended up with nothing, so it just shows the fine margins between having it all and having nothing.
May 28, 20223 yr Author But pundits will always talk about things like that that’s just what they are paid to do. Fact is we won the two cup finals and lost the league on the final day and champions league in the final. That’s all that really matters.
