Posted July 9, 20213 yr The premiere has been set for August 6th! Exciting, I think it was a strong start with the first season, really having its own identity, but it definitely needs some ironing out this time around.
July 25, 20213 yr Cast should hopefully be announced soon! I guess they were waiting for España to end! Super excited for this though considering how strong that top 5 was in the first season and how epic Envy was! Will patiently wait for Chelsea Boy and MamaQueen to come back for International All Stars of course too!
August 6, 20213 yr Author That was great!! I liked last season but this feels like a real step up, the fact they had a talent show AND a runway is something I always miss when they do talent shows usually, and the standard seems higher this season I feel. Juicy was the only one where I felt she was a weak link, I'm particularly feeling Keta, My Little Puny and Vivaldi so far though! There's a great range of queens who seem to all bring different things so I'm really looking forward to how this season pans out.
August 7, 20213 yr Even though I'm Dutch, I have never watched the first season, but absolutely LOVED yesterday's episode. It made me laugh so much and the cast was just fun. Didn't really like how Tabitha went into Vanessa about having "a head start because she has breasts", which seemed like the old school way of thinking that drag is a man in a dress, but the rest was such a fun bunch.
August 7, 20213 yr The interaction between Tabitha and Vanessa was very odd more when you know they are both envy's drag mother's. So they have known each other long no? I didn't like it either felt rather erm not good for modern drag views, lets just say that. Apart from that, it was a fun ep. I love Keta, Vivaladi and Vanessa the most. Loved the runway too.
August 7, 20213 yr Author Tabitha is giving me worse Pupi Poisson vibes, hopefully she is not as favoured as Pupi was on DRES :drama: I really dislike that view of older queens who think their "traditional" way is the only way, whilst I know they paved the way, I think it's one of the most boring types of drag for me personally.

I completely agree with you, it is at the same time SUCH a Dutch thing though; how she talked and behaved, I immediately recognize the type of person and we have a lot of people in the Dutch queer scene like Tabitha. It's a real shame and I hope she will learn a bit more along the way.
August 8, 20213 yr I kinda felt like Tabitha's comments might be the start of a learning curve /story arc for viewers as well so I don't take them so hard. Some viewers will be thinking the same I think. Keta Minaj was so great and My Little Puny too. Wee bit of favouritism for Vanessa maybe. This season looks more expensive and more on a ball than season 1. Great to see the season 1 queens back too! I don't love the badges gimmick like in DRUK though.
August 13, 20213 yr The Countess and Love Masisi are such fabulous queens I’d love to see them both make the finale. Shame to see Reggy go as she had a lot of energy (and was a very good looking guy) but it was definitely her time and Ivy ate her up in the lipsync
August 13, 20213 yr Author I don't get what they saw in Vivaldi's outfit, I mean it was very impressive that she sewed that cape thing but I thought it was really ugly as an outfit, I'd have said Keta or My Little Puny high over her but The Countess definitely won that! I thought it was pretty low standard for a design challenge though. Tabitha's look was possibly the worst alongside Reggie and her makeup is HIDEOUS, can't believe that hasn't been clocked
August 17, 20213 yr Love Masisi was High??? Her outfit was literally a corset she had already and then one of the tents wrapped around her, not even ironed.
August 20, 20213 yr Author The Wiki placements are really weird, how was Tabitha low when she was told her Snatch Game was great, and the only thing wrong with her runway was the neck? Not that I'm bothered as she is easily my least favourite so far. Then Love Masisi was told that she needs to come out of her shell and is just being safe last week, and apparently that's high? Tabitha was definitely singled out as being low because she was left on stage with Love and Ivy but I don't see how the comments justified it. I guess it doesn't matter but the judging just gets very odd in this iteration I feel moreso than other franchise iterations, it was a problem last season too. Solid Snatch Game though, Keta absolutely killed it! It's always great when you have these dream Snatch Game characters like Sophie and when they're finally done it's hilarious. Love Masisi was the right one to go there, Grace Jones is such a good character if you were to do her properly but sadly that was so flat. I like Ivy so I hope a Rusical being more up her alley is one where she can finally shine. What a lipsync song too!!! *.* This season has been great so far, a real step-up from S1 in terms of both the challenges and the standard of the cast overall. Even the weaker ones I feel have personalities that have stood out.
August 21, 20213 yr The Wiki placements are really weird, how was Tabitha low when she was told her Snatch Game was great, and the only thing wrong with her runway was the neck? I feel the Dutch judges take the runway a lot more serious compared to the US when it comes to the end results. Like last year, when Chelseaboy easily won the snatch game but didn't win the whole episode. Puny was EASILY the winner this week and I was shook she didn't win. Her impression was absolutely spot on, she was Marijke, and even though her runway wasn't the strongest there was no way she was only safe. I was a bit disappointed with Keta. Yes, it was funny, but where was Sophie's accent? And the thing about Sophie is that she is not only the pornstar, but also the sweet, funny and often naive girl which wasn't portrayed. Also missed her catchphrases (f***! it's a Sunday). It was certainly better than Rebecca on Canada, but I was expecting more. Tabita was also bloody fantastic and she just cracks me up with everything she says  It's a shame Love Masisi left, as I think she is very talented, but she was once again one of the weakest unfortunately. Still tjink Ivy Elise bombed more and should have been the one to leave this week.
August 24, 20213 yr Tabitha was the winner for me. A full half of them were just bad though. Love Masisi was DREADFUL and did she just give up in the lipsync or what? I'm just assuming Vivaldi was funnier in Dutch. I don't think someone should win in English really.
August 27, 20213 yr Author Vanessa go girl give us NOTHING, there's been so much hype for her and I've got pretty much nothing from her so far bar a few solid looks. I can't believe someone could make a main role where she was constantly on stage so forgettable! Keta and Puny are killing this season both on the runway and the challenges. And we're back to really weird judging and comments, like... Ivy gave probably the best lipsync performance I've seen on DRH so far in BOTH seasons (granted, the competition isn't that strong) but Fred said it was bad, but she still won the lipsync, but she has lipsynced too many times so she just goes home? I get that you can't just lipsync your way through (although that was fine for Abby...), but there's no point in having a lipsync if you disregard it and let the weaker performer through based on track record. The comments about Keta's wig bothered me too when that was the whole point, I read it as a nod to self-neglect in depression. They pick at so many details of outfits then when someone does somethign that is a detail, it's "wear a better wig" How is Fred going to give a double shantay to Abby/Ma'Ma for what might be the worst lipsync ever yet say that Ivy in this one was bad it just boggles the mind.
September 3, 20213 yr Author RuPaul would have a wet dream with all the delving into trauma and "journey" narratives this week  :drama: Vanessa and her partner is such a lovely story though. Also idk if it's just me, but Keta has deserved to win pretty much every single week except the design challenge?! Vanessa's makeover was good but how are they gonna say Countess didn't represent her roots then just gloss over the fact Vanessa didn't and just showed her meeting her partner?? I mean I *guess* it's the root of discovering who she really is, but I thought the point was to celebrate their heritage and then Vanessa and Vivaldi get praised for just a random look concept. Vivaldi seemingly only has to breathe and the judges eat everything up but I find her wholly unlikeable, I got bad vibes anyway but since her "I don't like to mix drag and politics" shite I just dislike her more. She comes across as one of those privileged entitled people who just doesn't care, or want to think, about anything outside of her bubble of life going well. Keta is steamrolling this entire thing for me, Puny is great too and then the rest I just can't take to that much. Puny being thrown in the bottom 3 alongside the obvious two worst for a slight mishap with the outfit was so stupid too, giving me Ma'Ma in the bottom 3 for her shoes teas. Next week should be interesting because Vivaldi is caught with a mobile and it turns out she's been contacting designers and getting extra stuff sent in or sth like that, so she is made to lipsync
September 3, 20213 yr My scorecard so far: Puny and Keta have been killing it. Vanessa pulled it out of the bag this episode, but they must have known who their makeover partners were in advance for her to have that love theme ready, similar for Puny's. Countess really was nothingness this episode unfortunately. Even her best friend friendship seemed a bit onesided :o
