For now i agree it does have vibes of a strong album track rather than a single but equally i still think its much better than dancing with a broken heart. Im also interested to see if the single reflects the sound in general of the album.

Generally I prefer Steps in all out fast uptempo form which this slightly misses the mark on but I am enjoying it.

I think it’s great. Yeah it’s not an absolute banger but it’s nice to see them experiment a little without going miles away from what we love about them. At the end of the day they are more of an album artist now anyway so can really go for any choice of song as a single as their singles aren’t going to light up the charts. And this song may appeal to a wider audience of people who are older around in 80s so interest people in the album.

I do hope there is some fast paced songs on the album though a mix of both.

Victorious we know at least is a big uptempo schlager pop song like Something In Your Eyes, so it can't be all 80s sounding and more mid-tempo unless they've dramatically changed the production on that.

I suspect it will be a bit of a grab bag of styles and tempos much like the first part of the album. The 80s sound is one of the natural routes for them I guess though, as it's in vogue, suits the Radio 2 audience and often sells albums.

Not as strong as some of their other stuff. It’s ok though and nice to hear new music from them!
It’s ok but can’t really say much more than that. Disappointing as a lead for the part 2 release in my opinion
As Lukuzz said it prob makes no difference as they dont do well with singles and are an albums act now but the lead single is still important to drum up album interest.

It’s growing on me, it sounds very much like something The Modern would have put out back when they should have been a thing.

It’s giving me a PSB vibe too. It’s lovely, but I feel it should have remained an album track. Hopefully the video will sell it more.

Where did all the other What The Future Holds singles peak on iTunes?

And if anyone has the info the Tears On The Dancefloor singles too please.

So this would be tracking well with a peak of #2 so far. That’s great.

A little shocked it’s up to #20 now in Australia. This is great. It obviously won’t lead to anything but it’s great to see some love for Steps here.

Not loving it on first listen. Maybe it will be a grower but sounds underwhelming
