Most black people who understand blackfishing would be angered by Jesy's behaviour. But someone like Leigh-Anne is in a kind of difficult situation. I mean, she called her own fiance out in her documentary, and did express her dissatisfaction with Camilla Cabello, even though she didn't quite mention her name. One thing I can tell about the Little Mix girls is that they seem to nor like controversy or drama. They tried to wriggle themselves out during the Nicki/Cardi B drama of 2018. So calling out Jesy publicly and squarely would just light up the Internet to a super degree, and I'm not sure she'd like that. But again, she must be boiling about the whole thing, so there has to be an outlet - even if it is just liking a post.

As for M-NEK, I think he's within his rights. Blackfishing is offensive, and I guess different people would handle it different ways - especially when Jesy is proving unteachable or even non-chalant.

Don’t agree at all. MNEK needs to call it out and explain why and how Jesy’s behaviour is so offensive not post ridiculous bitchy comments which DO NOT go towards waking people up to the issue. He should be using his platform as a voice not an outlet to be a bitch.

People would still have problems with him singling her out, when she's not really the only one guilty of blackfishing. And it's black history month, so....

ah yes, the old classic 'people of colour should call out racism the way we like them to, not how they wish to'

MNEK isnt the problem here. Jesy is.

Not that todays mids mean much but she's #1 today.

no he doesn’t. as white people (and honestly for anyone else who isn’t black) we don’t get to dictate how a black person reacts to this. he owes us *nothing*, sure it may look catty but he does not owe us an explanation. It’s very obvious as to why he’s pissed off and upset, sometimes it’s better to read between the lines.

This take is not it.

Why should MNEK, a black man in the same industry, have to explain what’s wrong? It’s not his job to educate the ignorant.

And he has used his platform to push black female artists that need support. He’s been posting videos and retweeting his favourite black females all day.

Would calling her out fully be better? People would still be uncomfortable and perhaps accuse him of choosing the day she's releasing her debut to call her out.

I'd like to point out again that Camila actually attended classes to educate herself on race and racism and has since been working with charities and organizations to fundraise and raise awareness of social issues.

You can either acknowledge your mistakes and change to be a better person or you can make excuses and ignore it. Jesy chose the latter.

#107 spotify WW and #117 US. Not bad at all!

Camilla was literally called out the other month for having a dancer with black face and the dancer was laughing about it on social media.

I think its best the discussions about Blackfishing stay to the other thread so it's not over a couple threads.

It’s also important to note that Jesy’s and Camila’s situations are not the same. Jesy is ignorant and kinda stupid. Camila is a point blank n-word using racist who attacked her *own* bandmate behind her back.

And then allowed her fans to barrage Normani with the absolute most vile, racist images without saying anything until Normani deleted her account due to the abuse.

Don’t compare the two, Camila is far worse.

I’m not clued up on Spotify/Apple placings - is this good?

I wonder when the cd single will arrive.

This was always gonna be a hit not only as the first solo release from the most successful girl band since Destiny's Child but also because of all the stuff around it.

Its one of those all press is good press. The haters will check in on it to comment and will get hooked.

But I think its downhill hereafter.

It was guaranteed to get a decent debut but it’s obviously outdoing the expectations on AM
