It's sold well and good for her but ad many have said it means very little. The media attention and curiosity alone is enough to secure a strong debut for thr first solo release from a big band.

It's where singles 2 and 3 and the album go that will be the decider. Zayns debut was huge and then...well...

No enter in the top 50 in Australia this week.

This has really grown on me, I didn’t like it last Friday but I’ve had the chorus stuck in my head most of this week.

I've looked on the official charts to see where other former girl group members first solo songs released peaked (where they are the main artist/joint main artist).

I just thought it'd be interesting!

Cheryl - Fight For This Love – 1

Emma Bunton - What Took You So Long - 1

Mel B ft Missy Elliot - I Want You Back - 1

Victoria Beckham/Dane Bowers/True Steppers - Out Of Your Mind - 2

Geri Halliwell - Look At Me - 2

Melanie C - Going Down – 4

Beyonce – Work It Out - 7

Louise - Light Of My Life - 8

Kimberly Walsh/Aggro Santos - Like You Like - 8

Normani & Khalid - Love Lies - 12

Mutya & George Michael - This Is Not Real Love - 12

Nicole Scherzinger - Baby Love - 14

Siobhan - Overrated - 19

Nadine Coyle - Insatiable - 26

Nicola Roberts - Beat Of My Drum - 27

Una Healy - The Waiting Game - 28

Camila Cabello/Shawn Mendes - I Know What You Did Last Summer - 42

These are just some artists that I could think of from the top of my head!

That Una release is her album, she's never had a Top 100 single! Being picky, the Mutya single peaked at #15.

Victoria was the feature on Out of Your Mind (The credit given on OCC's site feels like it's an attempt by them to make the tag shorter, rather than being accurate), anyway if we're going by first proper solo moment, for Victoria that was Not Such an Innocent Girl at #6.

Similarly, Kimberley Walsh was the feature artist on Like U Like. Her first properly solo single, One Day I'll Fly Away, didn't chart!

If we take into account the "first ever solo moments" then we have these...

2 - Tin Tin Out feat. Emma Bunton - What I Am [spice Girls]

3 - Bryan Adams feat. Melanie C - When You're Gone [spice Girls]

4 - will.i.am feat. Cheryl - Heartbreaker [Girls Aloud]

Other singles I can think of:

1 - Tinchy Stryder feat. Amelle - Never Leave You [sugababes]

5 - Liz McClarnon - Woman in Love [Atomic Kitten]

8 - Shaznay Lewis - Never Felt Like This Before [All Saints]

14 - Kelle Bryan - Higher than Heaven [Eternal]

14 - Alesha Dixon - Lipstick [Mis-Teeq]

47 - Route 1 feat. Jenny Frost - Crash Landing [Atomic Kitten]

62 - Kids in Glass Houses feat. Frankie Sandford - Undercover Lover [The Saturdays]

90 - Mollie King - Back to You [The Saturdays]

As a first ever solo moment, it seems that Jesy - Boyz is the most instantly successful single since Amelle's. Although if we go with Fight for This Love as Cheryl's "real" first single, then Jesy is the most successful since that.

Yeh i thought this would have decent longevity as it increased at the start of last week but seeing it fall daily now, I'm expecting a 4-15-18-18(graham norton effect)-35(xmas impact) then out top 40 sort of chart run
I wonder if all the old Adele songs will push it out of the top 50 tomorrow?

Her playlist support on Spotify still isn’t great. I think it depends if she gets good HHUK support in the coming weeks.

I really do want this to go away though not in a nasty way but hopefully it might make her and her team think about future releases.

Thank you so much for this, I was worried incase I got it wrong!

Justice for Jenny Frost :P

I got an email saying some CDs were shipped an hour ago but it's just came?!

So maybe they just sent the email late? Hoping they counted for yesterday.

The ones i've just received are signed with a gold pen  Nice I got some earlier in the week with her signature in black and these news ones in gold!

I'm guessing the ones in gold are newer as they were listed as 'stock to be refilled' but you could still order.

#4 isn’t terrible but I’m sure her team are disappointed not to be top 3

Officially in at number 4.

So happy for her, that is amazing!

A top 5 hit!

An insider told MailOnline: 'It's been a tough week for Jesy, but a top 5 debut solo single is a massive achievement; there hasn't been any other UK female solo artist to do that this year.

'Olivia Rodrigo is the only international female solo artist to have debuted in the top 5, so Jesy is in good company.

'She's is grateful to all her fans who have supported her and the single.'

A source told MailOnline: 'Jesy has spent the last couple of days in the recording studio.

'The studio has become a sanctuary for her; and she's been pouring her heart and soul into writing new songs.

'Jesy wants to focus solely on her music and solo career and not get caught up in any further feuds with other artists; she's got some big plans for the future and upcoming music.'

Please if you don't have anything nice to say, just don't say it.
