Actually really excited to see what Jesy has to offer and wish her nothing but success. I was gutted when she left and also slightly annoyed with some of the things she’s said since leaving but we have to remember she was unhappy for a while. Imagine working in the same job for 9 years and being unhappy for the last couple, it would ruin you having to get up day in day out and deal with it.

The girls are smashing it at the moment and doing really well & there’s no reason as to why she can’t too. :)

This release is very Polydor even the song title.

Moving away from the constant debate about her mental health, I doubt that was the sole reason she left (that’s just what we’ve been fed) it’s probably how her mental health was handled by management/staff too (Very hard for 10 years to constantly encourage and boost someone especially under pressure) that’s no ones fault but trying to get a girlband running smoothly is probably hard work anyway even if they are friends - Styling, looks, make up bound to be someone who hates what they look like.

Anyway....

How do we all think this will go? Personally, I can see this going top 10 and then future singles slowly falling away with each release (As much as I don’t agree with Jesy’s actions now I don’t think she’ll be able to release bop after bop and hold interest)

I’m very much getting Motivation vibes from the clip we’ve seen where the video is amazing with loads of great dancing, but the song is just ok. I’m gonna guess top 20 peak.

releasing this around the 10 year anniversary of Little Mix does seem like a major bad idea PR wise but then again, it is also 10 years of Jesy being a star and ultimately she did want to be a solo star.

it's a really weird one (and its probably because LM have been together so long) but I just can't see any of them as solo stars... it's very different from 1D where Harry was very obviously a solo star in the making and the idea of him every returning to 1D at this point is laughable whereas I just can't really see Jesy as a solo star. I hope she proves me wrong but I feel everything she does going forward is going to be compared to Little Mix or linked to them and I'm intrigued to see if she can brush that off and make herself a staple.

I'm very intrigued by this release

well little mix are hardly non-existant in the US! They've had a few chart hits.. nothing to phone home about sure but they could do a few gigs here and there.

Jesy is filming that podcast tomorrow, it'll feature some fans too. No word as to when it'll be released, i'm guessing soon and single release week!

According to an insider the single has been pushed back - i'n guessing because they wanted to avoid clashing with LM and any negativity that would ensue.

I think the first single will be huge, I'm just not sure if she can maintain it after that.

Think Mutya's solo career.

I'm picturing this too tbh, but she could surprise us. I didn't see Robbie being a huge solo star and look how that turned out, while I was convinced Emma and Mel B were going to be massive solo acts and neither of them were.

WHY would MTV even let someone like Nicki perform on the VMA? That would be such a gross statement. I am even disappointed Jesy and her label are going ahead with the release, says a lot about them as people.
they said autumn so I'm sure this is now slated for a late September / early October release - PJ stated there's a good few weeks between their releases now and Little Mix are releasing September 3rd

So her teams not pushing for a VMA performance then? You can’t perform a song that’s not been released yet.

Maybe they were pushing for it before the decision to move it back?

From the Guardian interview:

Nelson’s sent me one of her new songs called Boyz. It is R&B influenced, with an element of hip-hop thrown in for good measure (including a sample from P Diddy’s Bad Boy For Life.) In the song, co-written with producers Loose Change, she calls herself out for being attracted to bad boys.
