Midweek #84 on Thursday, total is 1,044 copies so far (up 112 copies on the previous day). I'm not sure whether it'll be able to stay Top 100 on Friday, once all the streaming of other albums around them is accounted for! Seems to be on course for 1,200-ish copies.

I really hope it scrapes the Top 100. That's all it deserves - and that way, we have another charting album to add to their name!

I am surprised to say the least that there wasn't enough interest to secure the release a Top 100 placement

Possibly getting a release the same week as One Touch anniversary edition took away from it.

Ironic if that's the case because I'm sure the choice of release date was purely to try and get sales off the back of the interest in One Touch.

Imagine if it's #101 :kink:

Hopefully we'll be able to find out quite soon.

no one wants to buy an album with Heidi on it these days x

SIOBHAN'S REVENGE

It's weird it did SO badly when S Club's sold a solid amount and charted pretty well. I expected it to do quite similarly, both are cheap, cheerful and tacky with thrown together tracklists, but at least S Club's had more rarities I guess.

Any news, Jay?

#107! 🤭 It sold 1,181 copies - 52 sales behind #100 (1,233). Oops!
It sold about as much as S Club's Essential did in its second week. Flop.

Angels anniversary edition cancelled.

I'm still a little shocked it missed the top 100 as I thought it would pick up more casual sales and safely have went top 75, T Pau essential is out this week and is top 40 in the mids, I'd never have predicted them charting higher than the sugababes

To be fair, if you have the choice between buying the nice One Touch package and buying... whatever The Essential Sugababes can be called, what would you pick?

Oh easy one touch but people are stupid

I still haven’t ripped this onto my iTunes yet. Tbh I couldn’t even tell you where in my house it currently is

In my opinion this goes to show how damaged the Sugababes brand became by the end of it all, beyond any member combination.

Yep. Clearly Universal were being opportunists here, but it completely backfired. Had they not been so lazy with things (for one, a decent design and tracklist, and a cover featuring the best known lineup of the Island years), and not thrown this out on the exact same week as the reissue, I think it could've been slightly more successful - we're a very loyal fanbase, after all. All they did was make themselves look even worse than they do already - especially with the careful attention to detail that was invested in the One Touch campaign.

There's no escaping the fact that the brand was, and continues to be, damaged. However, the underperformance of Flatline (a poorly promoted/released standalone single without the Sugababes name) was so misleading. As the One Touch reissue shows, there's a lot of love for the Originals (even if it doesn't quite match the love for 2.0). If they can get Sacred Three out there at last, I think it could do wonders for them. With all the chaos of the lineups over the years, seeing the Originals thrive again just feels so right.

Honestly, they could've done what one of the cheap cash-ins of Bananarama's did and feature individual pictures of the members:

But yeah, it was just a trashy release, with a trashy cover and an awful tracklist that looks like it was made on shuffle (but that's an insult to the shuffle function). They could've easily done a nice updated greatest hits, with some of their best (and rarest) b-sides + some nicely chosen album tracks. But they're like [siobhan]Nah![/siobhan]

Exactly! At least then it would've been a more comprehensive collection of the Island years.
