They tried it a few years ago with Sounds Like Friday Night and unfortunately it didn't do very well at all, so I'm not sure there's much interest for something like that these days.

That was the awful one they tried to add dreadful comedy too wasn't it. It was also during a shit period for music. It had quite a lot against it.

Also on a Friday night when many people are out. A Thursday night show trailing new releases for the following week before they're out could do a lot better.

If you weren’t a chart fan or JLS fan then you wouldn’t even know they were back. The thing is, they aren’t Take That or Westlife, they had some success but they finished on a massive limp. I actually quite like the song although nothing special.

Hoping for Charli to get some success with this one, an absolute tune!!!

Drake dominating is hardly surprising, it’s also his best material for some time.

Not sure why anyone's surprised at JLS - they finished because people quite simply grew out of them. Those people might be in their mid-to-late-20s now and will pay for a fun night out, but probably won't plaster their rooms with posters of Marvin these days. The track will basically have to fly on its own merits rather than those of JLS - even those who were hardcore fans back in the day probably won't give it more than two spins unless it's good.
Yup. This looks like a disaster for them so far.

Does it?

Is anyone expecting a smash single based on the state of the singles chart these days? Yes there was that 'JLS' named single... but I don't really think it's a precedent for them being a streaming smash in any way shape or form.

They'll be going for a big selling album - which will coincide with the sell out tour.

Spotify updated - Drake has full top 12 and all songs in top 24. Similar level take over to Apple Music

ABBA in at 35 & 37 (so 14 and 16 without Drake which is much better that expected)

ABBA at 35 and 37. Which once you cut the Drake tracks to 3 is actually #17 and #19. (Spotify)

The UK numbers are even more impressive than the US ones for Drake imo. 5.9 million listeners started to listen to the album in the US but only 2 million finished it.

A million streams in a single day for the Top 3 tracks. Insanity.

drake stopping ed sheeran confirmed, looking likely of occupying the top 3 quite easy.

Those Drake numbers wow :o

Really pleased to see both ABBA songs top 40 despite such domination from that album bomb!

Drake’s top 3 songs all over a million on Spotify with the highest on 1.2 million! I actually think he might stop Ed this week

This a classic 2+2 = 5 but found it interesting seen as the top 200 hasn't updated yet for me.

If you take the 6 hour streams from Thursday and add them to the 24 hour ones (assuming, a big if, if it was released at midnight it would still have been checked out by everybody who's listened) they'd be sat between Hurricane and Industry Baby.

Once you cap drake to 3 tracks that's #7 and #8.

These will deffo be in the first look top 10 and could well make it to the Top 20 by the end of the week.

I don't see how he's not going to tbh, if anything he should do it with ease, he's double ahead on Spotify and ahead on Apple Music.

Bad habits is on 517k combined today. Drake’s highest song is on 1.12 million so he’s over double ahead, as long as his numbers stay stable all week I think he’ll get #1 with ease.

No Maiden tracks in the top 200, which honestly i find a bit surprising but we know their sales would be 'real sales' mainly.

Meanwhile

#35 Don't Shut Me Down

#37 I Still Have Faith in You

#95 Dancing Queen

#119 Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight)

#177 Mamma Mia

#183 Chiquita
