Drake still has 21 of the top 23 although 'Bad Habits' and 'STAY' are starting to recover slightly now (#14 and #19 respectively). 'Fair Trade' has now overtaken 'Champagne Poetry' to #2 there, maybe coming to match 'HIGHEST IN THE ROOM' for Travis Scott's highest UK chart position?

I suspect Love All and In The Bible will soon overtake Champagne Poetry then and one of them will end up being his third official chart entry, depending on what holds up better on Spotify, CP's benefit of being track 1 will only last so long.

 

Love Tonight seems to be really taking off on Apple this week, here's hoping it can eventually go top 40 officially even if the label can't be arsed to beg the OCC for a SCR reset.

In fairness the dropoff from track 1 to the final track in global first day Spotify streams is more or less exactly the same as it was for 'Scorpion' (very, very marginally more - the final track on 'Scorpion' did 32.9% of the first track, while the final track on CLB did 32.8% of the first track).

 

But yeah, it's not really surprising if people are tuning out partway through Drake's bloated messes more than they do for other major albums. I guess his strategy is more to just put so many tracks on his albums that most people listening will take away at least 3 or 4 of them rather than getting people to keep revisiting the entire album.

Billboard charts don’t have any rules around capping a number of tracks when calculating streamed album sales, so we are seeing more and more of these bloated track lists which give them a major uplift on the US charts. No doubt Drake’s album sales will look massive there.

 

60k here would very impressive still considering scorpion had big lead singles to hype up the release with. Will see if the drop in downloads will stop it beating Scorpion’s first week.

 

Those ABBA Spotify numbers! So pleased for them. Let’s hope they don’t drop off a cliff as the week goes on.

I wouldn't count out 'Way 2 Sexy' either, considering it has a music video + the Hot Hits placement may help it hold up better than the others on Spotify despite its initial deficit.

 

Really don't get why 'Love Tonight' still hasn't been taken off ACR, it's one of the rare current dance hits I actually like so typical I guess.

JLS were quite unlucky that they chose this week as release week.

 

A few weeks ago they’d have a lot more attention in my opinion but this weeks the most packed one we’ve had in a while for releases and they’ve got lost in the mix with ABBA taking the reunion attention away from them and then the Drake album bomb, Little Mix release etc. They’ve just gotten lost amongst the other releases.

Drake is the herpes of music. Keeps coming back and you can't bloody get rid of him.

'Only' 8 of the top 10 in his second day, his career is truly over xx (all songs are still in the top 40, the lowest now at #37).

Don’t Shut Me Down at 41 and ISHFIY out of the Top 50 - no surprise that the former is going to do much better on streaming and guess that’s not too bad a fall for it at this stage.
