September 7, 20214 yr The streams of the remixes will be counting towards the total for the original album as well.
September 7, 20214 yr But he’s ACR after this? So the last week for Bad Habits at least? he is on track to go to ACR. then of course we have the new single out because he perfectly timed it to come out as soon as Bad Habits went to ACR.
September 7, 20214 yr It's not hijacking it, just nobody else is selling more. If another artist with his profile was releasing music now there'd be more of a battle but they aren't. clearly no one else has as high profile as Ed Sheeran if even Drake can’t beat him on his 11th week.
September 7, 20214 yr he is on track to go to ACR. then of course we have the new single out because he perfectly timed it to come out as soon as Bad Habits went to ACR. He was always going to release a second single before the album release 10th Sept is a perfect time 7 weeks out!
September 7, 20214 yr clearly no one else has as high profile as Ed Sheeran if even Drake can’t beat him on his 11th week. That's the point though. It's not his fault he"s that big. Suggesting being a big artist should be a crime is lunacy
September 7, 20214 yr On one hand, I do find it annoying that Ed is clogging up the #1 spot and has clearly planned it out to be there for as long as possible and I wouldn't even want my favourite artists to do that if they could. However, the public are the ones keeping it at #1 each week and with high sales so I can't deny it really. Although I reckon the proportion of people listening to Bad Habits who actually love the song is very low and that its success is just down to the fact that he appeals to such a wide audience who generally like his songs and won't skip when it comes on when streaming. Also, after listening to the snippet of the new song, I can see it being very successful as well. It's got a similar vibe to Bad Habits imo.
September 7, 20214 yr Drake could end up at 2, 4 and 5 like in 2018 (though 2, 3 and 5 is looking a bit more likely).
September 7, 20214 yr 1 Ed Sheeran - Bad Habits (33.2k) 2 Drake feat. Lil Baby - Girls Want Girls (32.9k) * 3 Drake feat. Travis Scott - Fair Trade (29.5k) * 4 Drake - Champagne Poetry (26.8k) * 5 The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber - STAY (25.4k) I really hope this ends up lasting until the end of the week and the Spotify & Apple Music lag doesn't end up pushing Drake back on top at the last minute
September 7, 20214 yr Has any act spent 17 consecutive weeks at #1? (Albeit with different singles) That must be the aim now
September 7, 20214 yr Has any act spent 17 consecutive weeks at #1? (Albeit with different singles) That must be the aim now They have not. Longest consecutive run for an artist is still Bryan Adams with 16 weeks. I'm sure Ed's gunning for that 17 consecutive weeks across the 2 songs lol
September 7, 20214 yr I’d love to see Ed get 16 weeks then have a massive release drop during week 17  Adele pls make it happen. Preferably Drake would’ve been #1 this week but doesn’t look likely now :( Edited September 7, 20214 yr by Jord
September 7, 20214 yr I’d love to see Ed get 16 weeks then have a massive release drop during week 17  Admittedly that would be absolutely hilarious, but I'm still hoping he'll take the record :D
September 7, 20214 yr Maybe Queen Olivia R may rush release a brand new single that saves the day! Much more likely than Adele
September 7, 20214 yr Maybe Queen Olivia R may rush release a brand new single that saves the day! Much more likely than Adele Options are probably: Olivia Rodrigo, Adele, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Lewis Capaldi or a charity record at this point
September 7, 20214 yr I highly doubt Olivia will be releasing a brand new single any time soon considering how well good 4 u is still doing plus all the tracks from her album are still streaming well.
September 7, 20214 yr I mean there’s no guarantee Ed’s new song will connect well enough to be a multi week #1. Next week is looking like a bit of an open goal though - Drake could still climb though if he stabilises.
