Seeing all the videos and pictures has made me, once again, pretty emotional. It seemed like a very successful event and I'm very proud of the girls for doing this, as I imagine it must have been very emotional! Lovely to see the old team, like Hillary and Peter Loraine, participating as well.

It was such a special day, I'm so glad I went and took part. I saw a few people getting selfies with Nadine, Cheryl and Nicola at the starting line as I walked past but figured it wasn't really the time or place. So proud of the girls nonetheless

What a beautiful day! It was so much fun that I didn't even feel like I was doing a 5k race!

The girls were there but the atmosphere was lovely, it was respectful and they weren't being bombarded like I feared may happen. Can't believe how MINISCULE Cheryl is!

Pics incoming

Aly & Joseph, I'm glad you both had a great day doing this and that you raised so much

Here's BBC Breakfast News' report on Race for Life for Sarah:

When the three are interviewed, there's an amusing moment when Cheryl says "I'll just walk at a fast pace - I might jog a couple of times" / Nadine (clearly not believing that Cheryl will jog at all): "Really?!" -

It's so bittersweet to see them together. Moments like that reminds me of their dynamic in the old days. Some of what was said on Instagram lives could have been straight out of "Off the Record" (Neither Cheryl or Nadine realising that Nicola was doing an Instagram live, Cheryl complaining about her ankles!).

In a way I'm sort of glad that Kimberley was unable to make it because seeing the four of them would be harder I think. Any time I think about Girls Aloud I find it so hard to accept that Sarah will never be able to join them again. :(

In a previous clip I posted, Nicola mentions how Nadine was very in denial about Sarah's prognosis and that the girls were worried about Nadine in terms of that ( :( ). Nadine said she would discuss with Sarah about definitely doing a 20th anniversary tour, asking Sarah if she would like to have a short or long style for the tour. I think it's really sweet that she remained hopeful and I'm sure she lifted Sarah's spirits during those tough days.

Sigh. :( Anyway do check out the BBC report, it's quite lovely and it ends with Sarah singing Whole Lotta History. 💔

I was watching clips from the Race of Life and I was getting Off the Record vibes too, particularly from Cheryl with her no filter attitude. It was really nice to see for the fact we’ve not really seen much of Cheryl and her personality in years and also it felt like Girls Aloud back in the day and that Sarah could walk into the scene at any point.
Sorry to have missed this yesterday had a rather tough day myself as my grandfather passed away and thought I’d best steer clear of anything to do with this as I was very emotional. Just watched the clips and was really lovely to see some of the old dynamic there again. The bit with Nadine going “really” and Cheryl’s little elbow nudge was funny. Hopefully this helps them as part of their grieving process too and most importantly they raised a lot of attention on cancer!

A whole year has gone by since Sarah's passing. :( To me it still feels a bit unreal that she's no longer with us, I can't believe it's been a year already.

I’ve just finished her book, it broke my heart. :(

Hope she rest in peace

Former members of Girls Aloud are to host a fundraising gala for cancer research next month in honour of their late bandmate Sarah Harding.

The Primrose Ball will be held at The Londoner hotel in central London on October 8, with performances from the likes of Olly Alexander and a live auction which includes an original canvas depicting the pop star by artistic duo the Connor Brothers.

The charity gala will raise funds for the Christie NHS Foundation Trust and Cancer Research UK, as part of the Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal.

Harding died aged 39 last September after revealing she had breast cancer which had spread to other parts of her body.

Cheryl, Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts will host the event, with Fearne Cotton presenting and broadcaster Johnny Gould hosting the auction.

Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson and The Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde are also among the line-up due to perform alongside Years & Years singer Alexander.

The Primrose Ball has been organised at the request of Harding and named after her lyrics from their hit song The Promise where she sings “here I am walking Primrose”.

The former Girls Aloud members said in a statement: “We are so grateful to The Londoner for hosting the Primrose Ball at their wonderful hotel.

“Charles Oak, hotel director of The Londoner, and Sarah had a very special bond and holding her gala evening there will make the night even more special.

“Our hope is to raise a huge amount of money that will hopefully prevent other people finding themselves in the same terrifying situation Sarah found herself in.

In July, the singers took part in a 5k charity run, titled Race For Life For Sarah, to celebrate Harding’s life and raise money for breast cancer.

The Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal aims to fund research to identify new ways to predict which young women, with no family history of breast cancer, are likely to develop the disease, ensuring people can be identified earlier when treatment is more likely to be successful.
