Maybes a three horse one Chiggs is my dark horse as he's peaking at a good time and for only baking a year has major talent but i think Giuseppe is the one to beat with Jurgen being the likely other finalist.

Potentially an all male final for sure?

Yeah that would definitely be a very likely top 3, I love Chiggs

A shame Freya went last night, the first time she's really been down there whilst Amanda and George are consistently just above the bottom. I thought when Freya went it'd be a week where her vegan bakes just didn't work but that wasn't the case

Freya was a tad unlucky for sure.

Don’t get me wrong I like both George and Amanda but consistency hasn’t really been taken into consideration with them when considering who should go as Freya throughout has been a lot better than both of those and had just one week where she didn’t even do anything terrible really just wasn’t so much to their taste.

Tbh I don’t think the standard overall is as high this year like aside from the likely top 3 of Giuseppe, Chiggs and Jurgen. I think previous years the overall standards been a lot higher / more competitive.

Consistency never is considered. Each week is judged on its own. If Jurgen or Giuseppe have a terrible week next week, they will go regardless of how well they have done so far.

Even without that, Freya has had two bad weeks tbf, I do feel for her as she had a harder time with vegan baking especially last week, I'll miss her pronunciershherrrrns.

George and Amanda do feel like they're hanging on, Jurgen and Giuseppe are obvious frontrunners but I reckon Crystelle is being underrated, she's very consistent and always seems to pull it out the bag with creative tasks.

Lizzie has done well under the radar too. I don’t think presentation is her strong point but they seem to like the taste of what she does and she is quite funny especially with Noel!

I’m gonna predict an all male final though for this season. Wonder what the future weeks are as well challenges wise is it pastry next week? Just imagine if they actually do a vegan week like they did a few seasons back now Freya’s left

I think Crystelle is one to watch, she also doesn't get that much airtime which makes me think she's in for a while yet. I love both her and Chiggs.

So far I have agreed with all of the eliminations

Was gutted to see Freya go but it was her time after a bad week. She did do some non-vegan bakes and maybe should have played it more safe on a couple of occasions. (I use aquafaba sometimes and it is very tricky to get to grips with in comparison to egg based mixture)

Amanda and George must be going soon, unless we get a shock elimination

Does look like it could be an all male top 3 - Chiggs/Giuseppe/Jurgen. Would love to see Crystelle make it though. Could definitely see her get a couple of star bakers and make the final.

That had to be the closest final I can remember! Giuseppe was probably the strongest throughout, but it could've been any of the three of them. Feel especially bad for Crystelle as I think she could've won had the bread actually been baked!

I loved the Alice in Wonderland theme, makes up for the general lacklustre themes this week despite the very high standard of baking (well from the top 4 at least x)

It was clearly edited so that Crystelle's spectacularly bad (i.e. raw) focaccia was the last thing to be judged! Before that, she looked like winning. After it, I thought Chigs was going to get it but Giuseppe was a worthy winner.

A hat-trick for Italy, Eurovision, the Euros and now Bake-Off. Maybe it's time to put money on an Italian for the Christmas number one :o
