A tough question perhaps... but with 4 decades of hits and a wealth of material behind her, what would you say is Madonna's #1 signature song?

Not her best selling, or your favourite, but the one song that you think encapsulates Madonna for the general public and beyond.

I had a think about this earlier today and found it really difficult to pick out a single song that is her most signature hit?

My options varied from the Like A Virgin era singles (the title track and 'Material Girl') or 'Vogue' or 'Like a Prayer'. I am really struggling :drama:

Help someone please!

I find it difficult to answer but I think it’s between Like A Virgin or Material Girl

Those were the first two that came to mind for me too and I think i'd agree, but I am still not totally sure

She’s often referred to in the press as The Material Girl.

I’d say that could be the one that just clinches it.

Like A Prayer would definitely be in the running though. I’d say that’s her most timeless cross generation appealing track anyways.

As much as I would love it to be Vogue, I think it's more likely to be Like a Virgin or Material Girl.

I think recently that Like a Prayer has been pushed as her No 1 song, but I think the general public would think more towards LAV or MG.

Pretty certain it’s Like a Prayer. It’s the song most associated with her in the UK at least.
Like Prayer or Vogue

When I read the title 'Like A Prayer' came to mind instantly.

To a younger generation, such as myself before I became a fan, I would probably say Hung Up.

Vogue a close second.

Material Girl easily. You could be forgiven for thinking her full name is MaterialGirlMadonna as that's what every headline or article calls her anyway. :P
