^ I don’t think it will start increasing but it could stay at around the million level for quite a while and therefore be No 1 for much longer than Hello. Hello’s chart sales were mostly downloads so it won’t have the same pattern as that.

Yeah I can definitely see that happening as well, only time will tell I guess. I think the big test for it will be in the couple of weeks after Ed's album release, seeing if it gets dethroned by anything from the album (though of course even if it does it'll likely go back to #1 once Adele's album releases, assuming she actually releases on streaming immediately this time).

The charts are a lot slower moving than in 2015, especially towards the very top so that will work in her favour in terms of weeks at the top. It just depends what happens with Ed Sheeran's album release.

I see NEIKED/Mae Muller/Polo G entering the UK top 200 today - if the US chart is anything to go by expect that to rise extremely quickly in the coming days. (It went from nowhere to the top 10 in just 4 days there!)

It's also in at #126 on Apple so far.

Expecting Adele to maintain the opening numbers is a bit unrealistic imo, but I imagine it may drop off quicker than that debut would suggest. Will be interested to see what numbers it’s doing at the end of next week
Dropping off is expected with such high opening numbers but i think she will easily clear 100k again next week, if Adele does an Ed Sheeran Bad Habits on it she could be the Christmas Number 1. I would be shocked if it happened but equally wouldnt say she has zero chance.

tbf I'm sure many people would've said the same with Shape of You when that absolutely shattered the records at the time but that only dropped under 1m on its 10th day despite "only" debuting with 1.3m, and it then climbed back above 1m for its 11th, 12th, 13th, 15th & 16th days as well, only consistently dropping below 1m from its 17th day onwards (before going back above 1m with the album release, of course)

If Shape of You had followed the same trend as Easy On Me following its debut it would've had first 5 day figures of:

1,280,898 - 790,740 - 613,820 - 644,253 - 580,246

Its actual figures were:

1,280,898 - 1,243,633 - 1,193,762 - 1,323,982 - 1,258,743

But the 2 releases are very different to do

Adele is a highly anticipated comeback after a 6 year absence

Of course its gonna debut with massive streams on day 1 and then drop

Ed had hardly been away did well cos it was the catchiest tune

She could realistically get to album release date still at No 1 unless any insanely big surprises come up. The only snag might be Ed's album bomb but it seems Adele's numbers are so big that won't matter going by this week.

It's been almost a week and she's still streaming 3x the next biggest song. Quite a few releases doing a million plus openers have gone down quicker than that.

That’s quite a drop from Tuesday to Wednesday. At this rate she could have a big Week 2 drop by streaming era standards (though she should still do 6 figures next week and be Number 1 easily of course).
Good to see it’s still above a million, great stuff 200k sales here we come!!
1.1 million is absolutely fantastic still
I make it 9.69m for the 6 days so far, so an average of more than 1.6m per day. Best of luck to the OCC in their Thursday estimate :D

2,801,638

1,729,543

1,342,576

1,409,140

1,269,141

1,142,888

= 9,694,926

:teresa:

If their algorithm’s any good it will estimate something between 1.0m and 1.1m for Thurs (I don’t know if they even work out each platform separately).

^The drop is never so big from Wed to Thu, sure they predict a similar value to Wed, just a tiny bit lower
yes she should rise on Fri-Sat
