We hear “if someone else sang it nobody would care” quite a lot but surely that is why she (and the other artists who get this) is the star. It is the singer that brings the song to life. The voice, the emotion… they deliver something special.

And Adele is definitely showing her star power with these numbers. Amazing!

Let's face it, ANY song by Cheesy Ed or the Shets would flop if released by someone unknown. Do you think 7 Eings would have been a no.1 if not by Adriana, but by Mariah?

Im the anti Ed fan, but I reckon Shape of You would also been a #1 if released by Little mix instead
It’s a bit of a let down if I’m being honest. The lack of build in the song is disappointing and it sounds just like When We We’re Young. That being said, it’s Adele by numbers so sure it’ll be lapped up.
debuts at #83 in United States 282,000 streams and #140 worldwide with 858,000 streams.
Ordered the cassette no idea why just felt compelled to after seeing it in the video haha

Joking.

Yeah, I don't think I'll be returning to this much.

"But I can't bring myself to swim when I am drowning in this silence"

What a lyric tho

Do not like this at all, nothing to it. I understand she is popular though and it will be huge, just very disappointed!

Told you! It didn't sound great from the clip.

Adele is a very clever lyricist. She's like an audio horoscope in that she sings things on a certain theme but quite vaguely so that there's a higher chance that people listening will be able to find something to relate to.

It's really nice to have her back, there's just something very comforting and warm about her vocal deliveries that mean should could sing pretty much anything and I'd enjoy it.

ok woke up this morning with her voice in my head tbh.

I'm loving it even more now on my third listen

UK iTunes :cheer:

It's definitely more of the same and not quite as powerful as the last two eras leads, but there's still so few artists that can do what she does and become a huge hit so it still feels very refreshing that she doesn't feel the need to jump on trends, the lyrical and vocal powers are still excellent and it's so distinctive. I'm cool with this x

I would like to see her experiment a bit more this era though, if anyone is big enough to take risks without risking their career, it's her.

I’m not sure why so many are disappointed. This is what Adele is. I don’t really like it but I’ve never been a fan of Adele’s voice and I can’t really stand that chorus. I’ve always thought she only gets more time on here than other MOR artists because she gets the huge sales. But I’m glad her fans are enjoying it.
I love this song so much  It grabs you in like a warm hug. This is the best I have heard her vocally. This is going to be so big.

I love a big chorus and ‘Hello’ had it! I was just expecting something bigger perhaps. It is a nice enough song and she has a great voice but it is as MOR as it gets.
