October 15, 20215 yr 07 | 07 | 12th week Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow INDUSTRY BABY 2nd single from MONTERO Released: 23rd July 2021 Label: Columbia Records Chart Statistics NE (05/08/2021) | 13-11-11-7-7-5-8-9-3-7-7-7 Sales: 300k+ Certification: Silver Status: Standard Chart Ratio 25 Sales 04 Audio Streaming 08 Video Streaming Video UTHLKHL_whs Biography Lil Nas X The way Lil Nas X tells it, it sounds simple, almost mystical. “I was just kinda bored,” he told Apple Music. “I wanted to put something up. So that’s what I did.” Not only did the “it” in question—“Old Town Road”—become a global phenomenon (and 2019 Apple Music Award winner for Song of the Year), it prompted surprisingly pertinent conversations about how we define and classify music. Was it country? Was it rap? Cowboy anthem or LGBTQ camp? TikTok novelty or legitimate pop song? It was, of course, all those things, and pity those who couldn’t live with the contradictions. Born Montero Lamar Hill in 1999, Nas grew up outside Atlanta but came of age on the internet, turning to social media and meme-making out of boredom and teenage loneliness—feelings compounded by his struggle to resolve his sexuality. (He later became the first artist to come out while his record was at No. 1, though he’d figured that between the rhinestones and rainbows and the general vibe, it would’ve been obvious.) “I didn’t know it was gonna do what it did,” he said of “Old Town Road” and its companion EP, 7. “But it did what it did.” - Apple Music Jack Harlow “I still wanna be one of the greats,“ rapper Jack Harlow tells Apple Music about his commitment to his craft. “I’m very ambitious about this. And I think I have what it takes to really make a mark because I love the art.” Harlow, born in 1998 in Kentucky, is well on his way to turning that dream into reality. Growing up in Louisville, Harlow started writing and rapping at the age of 12 and released his bouncy first EP before graduating from school in late 2015. Since his more fully realised mixtape, 18, dropped in 2016, Harlow has continued to inject his chill party rap and poppy beats with “addictive, candy-coated qualities,” as he described it to Apple Music. “It’s good on the ears.” With 2017’s Gazebo, he established a more mature sound, moodily riding through his hometown with the intense “Dark Knight” and keeping things dreamy using synth pulses on the regret-laden “Wasted Youth”. It’s a vibe he honed on multiple mixtapes in the late 2010s, keeping with a feel he says is representative of Louisville—smooth and laidback—while exploring elements of trap, which is native to his adopted home base of Atlanta. With every beat on 2020’s punchy, swaggering Sweet Action, Harlow moved closer to the place he sees as his inevitable destination: “On top.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Lil Nas X 2019 01 Old Town Road -1- MILLIONAIRE 2019 21 Panini -2- 2019 55 Rodeo (Lil Nas X & Cardi B) -AT- 2020 23 HOLIDAY -NAS- 2021 01 MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) -1- 2021 42 SUN GOES DOWN -PS- 2021 03 INDUSTRY BABY (Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow) -2- 2021 10 THATS WHAT I WANT -3- 2 x #1 | 3 x Top 5 | 4 x Top 10 | 4 x Top 20 | 6 x Top 40 | 8 x Top 100 Jack Harlow 2020 25 WHATS POPPIN -1- 2021 03 INDUSTRY BABY (Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow) 0 x #1 | 1 x Top 5 | 1 x Top 10 | 1 x Top 20 | 2 x Top 40 | 2 x Top 100 Social Media Lil Nas X Jack Harlow http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png

October 15, 20215 yr 06 | 04 | 5th week Central Cee Obsessed With You 2nd single from forthcoming studio album Released: 10th September 2021 Label: Central Cee Chart Statistics NE (23/09/2021) | 5-4-5-4-6 Sales: 100k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 38 Sales 05 Audio Streaming 06 Video Streaming Video 3k2J7eavWiM Biography Shepherd's Bush-based Central Cee made his first steps in music toward the end of the 2010s, debuting with 2017's Auto-Tune-laced "Over You." His early career was characterized by the D-Block Europe-esque melodic trap of the era, with Cee opting for bouncy instrumentals and Auto-Tune-driven melodies on tracks like "TRANSITION" and "JUGG." However, in 2020 the rapper found himself drawn to a different style entirely -- U.K. drill. Kicking off the year with the guitar-laden "Day in the Life," Cee's skating flows proved a natural match for the genre's faster-paced sonics, which he continued to develop with the gritty "Molly" and a bold showing on Kenny Allstar's Mad About Bars. All prior successes were eclipsed in October of that year, though, when Cee released his breakout hit, "Loading." Landing at number 19 on the U.K. charts, the track secured the rapper his first Top 40 hit with its inventive drill production, active flows, and a magnetic performance on the mic. This success followed him into early 2021: January's "Pinging (6 Figures)" offered a more traditional take on drill, while February's "Commitment Issues" secured Cee a number nine spot on the U.K. charts. His debut mixtape, Wild West, arrived that March. Debuting at number two in the U.K., the tape expanded Cee's vivid drill sound with forward-thinking production and a wider range of narratives. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2020 19 Loading -2- 2021 44 Pinging (6 Figures) -3- 2021 09 Commitment Issues -4- 2021 44 Day In The Life -1- 2021 16 6 For 6 -5- 2021 62 The Great Escape (Blanco & Central Cee) 2021 17 Meant To Be (Stay Flee Get Lizzy, Fredo & Central Cee) 2021 34 Little Bit Of This -1- 2021 04 Obsessed With You -2- 0 x #1 | 1 x Top 5 | 2 x Top 10 | 5 x Top 20 | 6 x Top 40 | 9 x Top 100 Social Media Central Cee http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png

On their 2014 debut, Zaba, the Oxford quartet aligned themselves with a storied lineage of abstract alt-rock—the moody atmospheres of Radiohead, the tropical textures of Animal Collective—but in Dave Bayley, Glass Animals possess an uncommonly smooth singer who could mould those left-field influences into sultry, R&B-flavoured pop songs. While the album made them indie darlings, it also earned the group admirers beyond the typical NME reader—the 2015 single “Lose Control” saw them team up with Brooklyn MC Joey Bada$$ for a trippy rap track. That sense of anything-goes openness fully flourished on 2016’s How to Be a Human Being, whose procession of freaky, funky anthems and synth-smeared slow jams earned Glass Animals their first Mercury Prize nomination. But after drummer Joe Seaward was nearly killed in a 2018 cycling accident, Glass Animals dialled down the eccentricity for 2020’s Dreamland, a more intimate record that further harmonized the art-rock/club-pop dialectic at the heart of their music. Speaking about the single “Your Love (Déjà Vu)” to Apple Music, Hayley said, “The idea was to take my favourite '90s producers like Timbaland and The Neptunes and the way they used samples, yet record a lot of those sounds in the way The Beatles or Beach Boys might’ve done it... and then taking Beatles and Beach Boys sounds and resampling them as [those producers] might’ve done.” That Dreamland cracked the Top 10 in both the UK and US is a testament to Glass Animals’ gift for melding different styles and eras into the sound of now. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2020 05 Heat Waves -1- 0 x #1 | 1 x Top 5 | 1 x Top 10 | 1 x Top 20 | 1 x Top 40 | 1 x Top 100 Social Media Glass Animals http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png
