Have you heard the lyrics? People should cancel ArrDee for mysoginistic lyrics like that full of contempt for women, we're in 2021, people get cancelled for much less than that

 

A woman singing the song about a man and you wouldn't bat an eyelid. Or a man about another man. It's only ever criticised when it's men singing about women.

As long as it leads to the metal/pop punk revival I've been waiting for when everyone loses the lust for indie then I'll suffer a few years of landfill indie resurgence.

 

In all seriousness enough time has probably now past since the peak of landfill indie (which also happened to be some of my peak pop listening years - we actually though Kings of Leon and Keane we're f***ing great!! Oh and The Pigeon Detectives Jesus). Maybe one day a more honest look at some of those hits will be found in the chart singles run down (if I live to around 300...)

Amazing that it could become a Top 10 and it certainly feels that he is moving up a level now - first saw him playing at 500 capacity venues and he’s now doing 12,000 capacity ones next week in London.

I remember first hearing him as an Introducing artist on Annie Mac's show! I believe the song was 'Friday Fighting'.

It's certainly another positive sign that we're on a road to increasing variety of sounds in the charts.

Anyone was more hoping Slipknot might get their chance for a few more singles in the top 40.

I've never understood this as going any deeper than 'a woman doing pop punk??!' (same thing happens when people hear Tonight Alive for the first time), the two songs sound nothing alike. Let's not lend credibility to these dumb "Blurred Lines"-esque cases.

quite, it took me, as a Paramore fan who has 'Misery Business' as my favourite from them, a long while to figure out which Paramore song people were talking about with 'good 4 u' because I wouldn't have got it on my own. It's just cool that a mainstream pop artist is willing to put out a grungey track and it becomes one of the biggest hits of the year, which is better than some periods of chart history I've been around for.

So the numbers Sam’s been doing the past few days is without it being on HH?! I didn’t realise it wasn’t there and only got added today, he should be doing crazy numbers the next week or 2 now with it being added!

But they are credited now so its not that she didn't acknowledge the similarity

Presumably the 5.29 and the 10.13 versions of All Too Well (TV) are being combined then, or will it be a Kanye West Jail esque situation where the 10 minute version being tagged as such makes it a separate chart entity?

 

Either way I could see it going top 40 this week which would be the first 10 minute song to chart so high since god knows when.
