Spice25 had plenty of leaks. I remember all the complaints here.

Well in week 2 it plummetted to #207 lol and sold 867 copies (down from 7,798 the previous week). They needed to sell 19 more copies to stay Top 200 for a second week.

 

7,798 copies = 552 were digital (i.e. downloads + streaming) and 7,246 were physicals

867 copies = 313 were digital (-43.30%) and 554 were physicals (-92.38%)

 

The week they were #5, they were only 77 copies behind #4!

Preach! Steps constantly get it right for their fanbase, it would be a dream if the Spice Girls team could take cues from their marketing. These two globe image teases, 7 weeks apart from each other, and still no info... just awful.

 

I agree that the cassettes probably could have had more appeal if they'd had individual covers. I don't think different colour shells was enough to make many people feel that all 5 were necessary purchases.

 

Steps have had incredible success due to their grift for sure. BUT they are an active band and they will literally even perform at University open days. The Spice Girls are not an active band and will only perform if they have millions in front of them...

 

They should absolutely get a their heads in a better place with this though. Ultimately, we can blame the lable or their team but *they* as a group need to also do better than this crap. It is their own fandom and legacy at stake here... No wonder it always feels like they are starting from scratch everytime anything happens URGH

The first teaser feels pointless.

I really feel like they shouldn’t have teased it whatsoever until like… 2 days in advance at the very most. You get people’s attention and then you strike.

 

Tomorrow will be 8 weeks since that first tease. :/

 

I guess once they finally announce it, all will be forgiven… but surely this has to be one of their worst marketing endeavours ever?

 

I know it’s still on our minds, but we’re the hardcore fans who are waiting expectantly. The casual people they targeted with that tease though? They’ll have completely lost the attention of many of them.

A double LP vinyl has the potential to be exciting - having whatever bonuses they include on the second vinyl. That would have been something I would have appreciated for Spice 25 actually... it would have been a bit more exciting than them just being on a CD.

 

I'm glad that it seems there'll be a wide range of vinyl again, a minimum of 3.

 

I do hope the rumoured individual covers for CD still ends up being true though. One CD option isn't enough imo, that really limits chart potential.

Yeah I saw that and it seems like an ok set, but they really need to get Spiceworld standard CD back in print as well!!!

 

I dont quite care for individual CDs or vinyls unless they each bring something extra

Their store system adds the new items into their database usually 1 or 2 days before an announcement. Today an item called 'Step To Me T-Shirt' has been added - this obviously could be for any Universal stores artist, but I would be surprised if it wasn't Spiceworld 25 related, so I'm taking this as a sign that Step To Me will be coming to streaming!

Someone on the Facebook group posted this image, I recognise the name as someone who has access to leaks or knows where to deep-dig to find information so I'd be inclined to think it was legit, though he gave no source. I wouldn't be too upset as it at least it remains faithful to the original artwork unlike the monstrosity of Spice 25.

 

With little nuggets of information starting to come out I'd be surprised if we don't get an announcement this week.
