On another note, Spiceworld 25 is currently #3 in the iTunes Pre-Order chart behind Rimzee and Taylor Swift. I hadn't paid attention to this chart until now so I'm not sure if Spiceworld was higher than that in the past few days?

Amazon - #79 for the CD, #350 for the vinyl. (We should bear in mind that the 'Forever' vinyl actually reached #1 on Amazon during its pre-order, and yet it ultimately missed the UK Top 200 altogether, which indicates that these positions for Spiceworld would mean very minimal sales happening on Amazon at this point...)

<_< this doesnt seem very good at all, damn! Although Forever was only sold on retailers like Amazon and HMV, whilst the big bulk of the initial sales for Spiceworld25 must come from their own website instead of Amazon?

I think so, and of course we have no idea how strongly it might be selling through their store! I suppose there's currently no real incentive for people to order either of those formats from Amazon. Particularly as they're more expensive than getting them through the official store.

So I have ordered the 2CD and the double vinyl, and that's it.

It is a bit weird that nothing has yet 'sold out', as I think a few items were already sold out or near that at this stage with Spice25. They really fumbled this bag, hey...

Also, Step To Me streaming numbers are shockingly low.... -_-

The t-shirt they're selling on their store uses an alternative picture of Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Emma, yet for some reason they decided to extract the picture of Victoria from the common group shot that was used for the Spiceworld CD / Vinyl. Not only that but they've edited her outfit in a different way to how it was edited back in the 90s.

I'm wondering why they decided not to use the alternative Victoria image like the others, and why they took the original Victoria image but edited her outfit instead of just using the original edit.

Also wondering why there's a continual need to make sure that Victoria's clothing is extended. This certainly stems right back to 1997. Was Victoria herself unhappy with the picture, or others such as the label? I'm curious about why it's an ongoing issue after all these years! (Apparently when the t-shirt first became available on their store it actually showed Victoria's outfit in the unedited original way, but they've since changed it)

Things have gone a bit flat with this... <_< Their Instagram page hasn't specifically promoted it since 1st October.

There's a little under 4 weeks to go until its release, so there's still time for them to give it more attention, but hmm.

Amazon positions are meh:

#191 - CD

#1,747 - Picture Disc

I read at some place that Harper critics the old outfits of Victoria cos her skirts were too short, as well David didn’t like them so I assume that now she doesn’t want that these pictures get everywhere again and have re-edited them.

Spice Up Your Life (live) is coming this Thursday, so buckle up girlies cos them sales are finally gonna go through the roof :teresa: B-)

George Michael's reissue of Older is #2 on the UK album chart this week. No new material with only one cover. It really makes you think how much lower Spice 25 would have charted with only one vinyl cover.

Doesn't look like SW 25 will go top 10.

Edited by Sideout

It is a much less competitive week than Nov 4th, to be honest, and George's fanbase is more used to buying than our fanbase, im afraid... Spiceworld will probably be Top20 for one week and thats it.
George is also dead, these reissues become much more sought after when the artist is no longer around.
Has anyone else had an email from HMV saying the CD book is now coming out January 2024?
Hopefully that's a temporary weird glitch!

I hope so. In the meantime just so I'm not left hanging for over a year I've temporarily cancelled my pre-order there and pre-ordered elsewhere!

OK girlies! Lets see how Spice Up Your Life tonight is received.

There's a few things that still need to happen before Nov 4th:

1. Spiceworld the album cover needs updating to a better picture. That awful yellow-ed scan is so grating on me!! :neyde:

2. Their Spotify picture and cover, please... it needs updating to a Spiceworld25 one... It still has the Spice25/I Am a Spice Girl one :cheeseblock:

3. They need to keep pushing Step To Me and the available formats on their socials... it's been over 10 DAYS since they last tweeted/instagramed about it :mary:

ALSO are we getting dolby atmos versions of the standard Spiceworld album, like we did for Spice25??? Would be amazing but Ive read nothing about it and it didnt mention anything in the press release :melb:

Well the clips sound like it was really a youtube rip or a really old cassette... we have better quality live tracks on previous singles from 1998...

The fans are really not happy...

Happy 25th anniversary to my favourite Spice Girls single :cheer:

Well, what can I say about this! The audio quality is horrible, it's so muddy sounding. It's like a bad bootleg! :drama:

Us fans had joked about them ripping audio from YouTube or VHS in order to get these live bonus tracks, but the joke's on us apparently because it really seems that's what they've gone and done. Someone checked the sound levels and it's a close match to the audio quality of the Arnhem show that used to be on YouTube.

Whoever is specifically in charge of this campaign must be having a laugh. To officially release this sort of lossy audio quality, when we know that they have (or had) high quality audio for Istanbul and Birmingham shows (the evidence of which can be found on the Stop and Viva Forever singles) is beyond the pale. It’s lazy and amateur.

This poor quality audio being pressed on vinyl though…

Oh Spice Girls, oh Universal...

Whilst I'm all for being critical of the poor sound quality I think saying they ripped the audio from Youtube is just fans being their usual overly critical selves. There are 2 live tracks coming we have never heard, have never been on Youtube so they must have the source material and it is all probably poor quality.

Obviously that isn't great for us as fans but I think had they added live tracks from Birmingham or more from Istanbul people would have complained we didn't get something different and it was lazy and predictable.

Anyway Viva Forever was the only live track I was here for, I probably will hardly ever listen to SUYL live good quality or not. A shame for fans that were looking forward to high quality live tracks though.
