So after a fair few ABBA enthusiasts on this site seemingly buying many copies of their new album, it got me wondering which albums you have multiple copies of?

I’m going with 3 as the minimum otherwise every album I have on cd and reissued vinyl would be included.

surprsingly few for me actually, usually vinyl/CD combo is the norm. To have more than that is quite rare:

Help! The Beatles

I have most Beatles, Abba, Pet Shop Boys albums twice on vinyl and CD but if I buy a deluxe CD I tend to dump the original CD. :o

I do, however, have many tracks over 10 times on compilations, albums, singles, remixes etc.

Tori Amos - Under the Pink - vinyl, cd, cassette

New Order - Substance - vinyl, cd, cassette

Blur - Parklife - vinyl, cd, cassette

Kate Bush - Hounds of Love - vinyl, cd, cassette

I dont own anything twice in the same format because if I get an upgrade/re-issue I give the earlier copies to friends. I see no need to keep two copies of the same album in the same format.

Albums that I have purchased four times or more because I needed replacements plus re-issues.

Suede - Dog Man Star (2 cassette, 2 cd, 1 vinyl)

Manics - The Holy Bible (1 cassette, 2 cd, 1 box set including vinyl and cd)

Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes (2 cassette, 3 cd, 1 VHS)

Mansus - Six (3 cd, 1 vinyl)

New Order - The Best Of (1 cassette, 2 cd, 1 VHS)

I also only own more than two copies of something where the tracklist is altered i.e. some tracks from the original are removed to make way for others.

Agnes' Dance Love Pop is a good example, I have versions from Sweden, France and the UK all with different songs.

Recently I ended up with three copies of the latest Steps album due to issues with deliveries but I'll give one of these away (one has a slightly different tracklist so I'll keep that).

I have quite a few on vinyl and CD too, but can't think of many where I own more than two of the same format.

The Best Album in the World Ever

True Brit

Untitled 2

Just checked and got 6 copies of Damien Rice - O according to my Discogs

includes the regular CD, the CD+bsides,

the original CD in hardbook, the Japanese CD

the vinyl and the deluxe vinyl

I remember in the early 90s, when Tori Amos released her album Strange Little Girls

she released 4 different covers

So the album was identical only thing that changed was the album picture on the cover

On release week I just bought 1 but years later I found a very cheaper version of one of the alternative covers and I bought it

but must have been one of the first albums taking advantage of the multi versions :D

I can't think of anything else obvious off the top of my head.

None I can think of.

The closest I can think of is I own the vinyl and CD copies of Definitley Maybe and WTSMG but also have the singles boxsets for both albums (the cigarette box design ones), but that's not another copy of the full albums.

I've succumbed to another copy of Dangerous by Michael Jackson because there is a new red/black swirl edition that supposedly sounds better (and looks prettier) than the one I already have.
