I really think you had to be there to grasp the Bros hysteria,

I think their first 3 singles were all great

but after than the quality dropped to zero, so they lost it all pretty fast

I'm the only one who voted for Odyssey. :o Great disco song never get tired of hearing it.

I bought Bros's first two singles, still like When Will I Be Famous now. Their song Too Much passed me by at the time but hearing it again on the TOTP re-runs it's quite good.

Incidentally 16 out of 31 voters still have all their votes still in the rate

Star Trekkin was a definite precursor and influence on Doctorin The Tardis I reckon!

I'm Your Man, another 60s influenced song in terms of production, much like Freedom but not as good in my opinion.

Really? I don't think so.

Doctorin' the Tardis is iconic. Not sure about Star Trekkin'. Well, at least ST video is fun. I'm watching it now on YouTube. :D

Something doesn't need to be iconic to influence the creation of something else that happens to be iconic.

His only chart topper in a decade where he struggled.

Belfast Child gets very negative reactions and comments. I love it.

I can see how it's viewed as "Dirgy" but I quite like it and bought it on 7" and 12" at the time. I remember sending my mother to buy it in the week of release and she came back with the 12" (it may have been the first 12" I ever bought) because the 7" wasn't out until the following week. I then bought that format and helped it to No 1 :D

Rod's song Baby Jane is good but not as good as his previous hit Young Turks imo. Whitney's Saving All My Love is quite nice, she doesn't overdo the vocal.

Star Trekkin is quite fun as novelty tracks go!

Shame for Saving All My Love For You, one of Whitney's best imo and definitely better than One Moment In Time... injustice that has ranked higher!

One Moment In Time I have put in the category of 'so cheesy its good' though with its arms-in-the-air chorus!

A new entry for Durren Durren with Planet Earth!

:w00t:

One Moment in Time is cheesy bad

For once the US got it right, went to #5, which was a surprise since 7 out of her 8 previous singles had been #1 in the US

It is strange how he came back strong in the 90s it’s like the public realise the likes of Rod and Elton are national treasures and take to them again!

Bit crazy that Belfast Child is Simple Minds only #1, in fact, their only top 5

and that tracks as popular as Don't You Forget About Me only peaked at #7, while being a #1 in the US

or Promised You a Miracle didn't even go top 10

I think that Alive and Kicking is their anthem, always surprised that wasn't a bigger hit.
